BL-22 firing pin
Hi all, i have fallen victim to one of the classic blunders. I bought a second hand BL-22 then put stock spacers and and a skinner sight on it, ie now im attached to it. Found at st marys the other week that out of the 8 odd rounds i had in the tube, 3 rounds failed to fire so i suppose im looking at a new firing pin and i dont fancy my fine motor skills or patience enough to do it myself. Does anyone know how much it would cost me to get a smith to do this? Reccomendations on a good value for money gun smith near sydney? Ta

Was it bulk ammo by any chance? Sometimes the primer powder doesn’t get spun/distributed evenly. Light primer strikes should normally be more consistent.

Yeah actually it was a federal bulk pack. Ill post some pics next time i get a chance to shoot and run through some cci as a control. Bulk .22 is pretty poor if thats the case!

Yeah I’ve had the exact issue in the past with federal. Not uncommon to have around 15 failed rounds in a 500 packs. A good way to tell is to rotate and rechamber the same round (after keeping down range for a minute) so the primer hits the opposite side of the original strike. If it goes bang, it’s an ammo issue. Not your firing pin.
