[HIRING] Revenue Accountant - Waltham
Bit9 + Carbon Black is looking for a highly self-motivated and detail-oriented Revenue Accountant to join the team in Waltham, MA. The individual will ensure accurate accounting and reporting of revenue as part of the monthly revenue close process. The position will work directly with the Revenue Manager on various accounting, revenue recognition, sales tax compliance, and internal process activities.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the generation of invoices through NetSuite, our accounting system
Review and analyze customer invoices for accuracy
Review revenue transactions for compliance with revenue recognition criteria based on Company’s revenue recognition policy and accounting literature
Work closely with the sales operations team and provide guidance on entering sales orders for invoicing purposes
Ability to read contracts/agreements and identify pertinent terms and issues to provide appropriate accounting guidance and propose solutions within company’s revenue recognition policy and accounting literature
Create detailed revenue reports as needed for senior management
Provide guidance and suggest improvements to the company's revenue recognition process where changes to quality or scalability could be achieved
Skills & Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
3+ years prior experience with focus on the billing and revenue recognition process.
Understanding of US GAAP particularly as it relates to revenue recognition
Ability to interact effectively with other departments including sales and product teams, legal counsel, etc.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of multiple concurrent and diversified tasks, while working within deadlines
Strong working knowledge of Excel to manage large amounts of data
