What do you like about marathon speed?

I just like spending hours and hours building up the empire until it's truly at the end of the line and the outcomes will be inevitable. It gives more time per era, you need to plan a lot deeper because like this game went on for several days, I dunno, it just feels like your only starting the game when you get to atomic and information era levels this way, but that the dozen or more hours prior at least we're integral to shaping the game start and eventual outcome.

Like I can't tell you how many turns and cities were devoted to getting my co2 contribution to -4k, with whatever my positive was to offset on top, at one point the game was at 20 turns from level 4, but at the end I got it back to 382 turns until level 4 so I could keep a ton of coastal strategics hehe, just, fun taking all that time and planning

Impressive, congrats!
With the console version crashing every other turn for the last 100 turns it was hard to finish out, but Trajan hung in there and we crushed the infidel.
