non-custodial family members

The plural implies there were more than one. Did she go with her cousins? Her grandparents? Her father and step-sister? Her brother's family? Her relationship to these family members could paint different stories. Is she thought to be in danger or did she just leave home?

She's not abducted, she's voluntarily with family who doesn't have custody rights lol.

I hate the black/white criteria the media and law uses to describe these situations. They act as though this is the same as a toddler being abducted by a total stranger.

I have no idea if she's been "abducted", and unless you know her personally you don't know if she's there voluntarily or not either. But there is nothing funny about a young girl from Logan Ohio hanging out in the Hilltop area against her parent's wishes whether it's voluntary or not. It's the main area for heroin and prostitution in Columbus. The media is just letting the public know she's missing, you don't need to know every little detail about the family situation to care about that do you?
