Any one else with the Inspiron 13 7375 2700U have a issue with Dell's latest Graphics driver?

I love this laptop so. Only had a few issues with it. one being graphics drivers.

So when Dell released a new one on the 21st i installed it, only to get a black screen. I rebooted the machine and saw the firmware load. Then when it came to Windows, dead screen again. But it was loading, it logged me in Via Hello (the facial recognition option) and you could hear the start up chimes.

I had to roll back the driver in Safe Mode to get it to display in Windows again. In Device manager it says that Windows stopped the device Code 43.

Just wondering, is anyone else is having this issue?

Hi,

I as well have the 7375. While I haven't had that issue with the most recent drivers and bios, I have had intermittent freezing and hangs accompanied by loud system beeps everything I click or press any keys. That just started happening.

Back on the main topic regarding graphics drivers, I have had the issue where when playing certain games in full screen the colors invert.

I am personally I think in the same camp as you in that I love this laptop, but there are weird little things with it that kinda have me concerned with holding on to it sadly. I personally wish the thermal solution for this laptop was more so substantial. Like maybe an extra heat pipe or something. Highly considering changing the thermal compound on the unit to see if that helps with system performance as well as stability.

Just my two cents. I'll let you know if I have similar issues thought. Meanwhile it would be nice to know if anyone else has the same sentiment towards this laptop.

I agree with you on the thermals.

Dell offered to replace the main board on the system for me. So I shipped it off to them on Friday. I hope to get it back soon.

I was going to replace the thermal compound once I get it back, and upgrade the SSD (the ~250 GB fills up too fast when I working).

Once you do let me know if you continue to have the same issues or not. Hopefully it was just a weird defect. As for upgrade ability, that was one of the main selling points of this laptop. I will eventually put in a 500gb or so myself. But I do wonder about the RAM. Dell specifies that the max for the unit is 16gb, though crucial as well as others say it should be able to support up to 32gb. Also crucial list 2666 Mhz RAM being compatible with our model. Which naturally peaks my interest due to APU's favoring faster RAM for the integrated VEGA graphics. Not to mention these having a open BIOS leaves me to consider possible under volting to maybe increase thermal performance as well as possibly tightening up the timings on newer RAM to maybe help that out a bit.

There is quite a bit of things I have been wondering after reading through some of the other reddit threads on here in regards to increasing its current performance.

If you reference:

as well as:

all the possibilities peaked my interest before purchasing this laptop. Which mind you I got for what I consider a steal at $540 at Best Buy here in the states. It was a open box that someone returned same day in original packaging.

Either way. Let me know how it goes with all of that. I really think this laptop has potential for better performance, not just for games, but for some of the more demanding workloads I do with 3D graphics.
