Ripe Purple UFO

First year of growing and I really like them. Really pretty throughout the life cycle. The heat is mild (think store bought jalapenos) but fades quickly. Great raw on salads and sandwiches. Diced on Mex food is also excellent.
I have tried them purple and red and they seem about the same. No hints of apple flavor as widely reported but I have had a few friends claim they also taste a bit smokey.
I'll be growing more next year as the plants are a bit sparse and lanky.

Kinda surprised you don't get that apple flavour, mine definitely still have it, they're also quite a bit hotter then Jalapeños, like twice as hot, may i ask where you got your seeds from?.
Here are some pics of my purple ufo's - picture - reddit post -https://www.reddit.com/r/HotPeppers/comments/ibb7wz/purple_ufos_are_looking_stunning_this_year/
I'll send 15-20 packs in for the seed exchange aswell.

Quite a bit hotter than home grown jalapenos would really be something. All of mine are like battery acid hot...lol

Hi! /u/SpitfireChillies here and mine are definitely hotter than Jalapeños, they're 30,000 to 50,000 SHU but the heat level can also vary a lot depending on the growing conditions, watering,... And also personal taste. Anyway, yours look great, good job!

It was brutally hot and dry this year. I had to hand water almost daily.
My jalapenos are ridiculously hot.
