Mass Mutation in TTS

Anyone find out a way to update cards with Enhance icons inside of TTS?

You can do it. It requires some photo editing software like Gimp or Photoshop and knowledge of how to import decks to TTS. I've done several decks for myself and buddies to play, since we don't like TCO.

What don’t you like about TCO

TheReapr, Couple Main Issues I have with TCO:

  1. I teach a lot of new players and it is really hard having to deal with manual mode on a constant basis because they played a card to the wrong flank, or changed their mind on an active house, or didn't realize they had an Alpha in hand, etc.
  2. It's really hard to keep track of what's happening in the log most times as things build up with houses like Star Alliance
  3. I really hate not being able to manipulate/re-order my hand of cards to set them up in the order I need to play them like I would IRL
  4. Multiple/simultaneous triggers can be really hard to navigate correctly (even with the prompts enabled)
  5. MisClicks are annoying when selecting menu items
  6. It frankly builds bad habits. Because the automation (which is great) handles all of the triggers, you get used to the game "doing the thinking for you". If you only play online, when you do get IRL games in you can often miss/forget triggers because you're not used to having to process them yourselves.

I have endless love for TCO as I think the game would be dead without its existence, so many thanks to the developers who invest their personal time into it. It's also nice that anyone can hop on and not have to have a TTS account. But ultimately I think that TTS better captures/recreates IRL play.

That being said, we did play TCO as our main medium when Crucible Tracker was live. It was incredibly helpful to be able to go back and walk through turns and look at hands/decisions to get better. Also really liked seeing all the stats on your deck around aember gain / win-rate by set, Mulligan success rate, Player order Success rate, etc. Such a bummer that got disabled as part of the KIP debacle. Having stats like that on a game definitely helps to lessen the few sticking points I have with the mod.

The utterly horrible UI? The fact that my opponent just stares at my decklist on DoK the entire time? The rules logic that is mostly right? Do I need to go on?

The UI is fine, but you are welcome to your opinion. The staring at your decklist: can’t really prove that they all do that (I don’t for one), something you could do on TTS by looking up the deck, and not a TCO problem. And the rules logic is pretty good considered it’s a third party site and they usually stay on top of things. Not to mention there are a lot of card rulings that don’t have official answers so even on TTS you will get that issue.

As someone that works in UX/UI, it hurts my eyes to look at the site, and it's a pain to use.

The way I have it set up in TTS, you don't know your opponents deck, unless they tell you what it is, as it doesn't spawn the decklist. So, no, there is no way to look up the deck and stare at DoK when playing.

I know it's a sin to criticize TCO here because people are in love with it, but it's not the only option to play online, and people need to know that. I'm also not telling people they should not play on it either, everyone is free to do what they want, but I myself, prefer not to use it.

You can literally search decks by the cards you play, so yes there is a way lol. Not to mention IRL you get to look at the opponents decklist before starting so if you want more like the real thing (which you made it clear you do) then you should at least start the game with that

TheReapr

Yeah, not sure you're going to have time in the middle of a game to look up the potential deck based on a few cards you saw, but apparently you can, so kudos. Besides, if you just wait until your opponent goes through their deck one time you're going to know what's in it, so it seems like more work than it's worth to guess. Better to just play the game.

Yes, in real life you get to look at the Archon card of an Archon event, but you don't for sealed, which it more closely represents. Even looking at the Archon card online all someone has to do is screenshot it, which is why it's concealed. There is no way to replicate real life online unfortunately, but TTS is as close as it gets.

This is all for me and my buddies anyway, and it's the way we prefer to play. We feel like it better prepares us for both sealed and archon tournaments.

I believe some people figured out how to stamp decals onto cards for enhancements, though I am not sure of the process myself

LadyCaffeina

Yes, the new Lock Smelt TTS mod has the option to stamp decals onto your enhanced cards. The designer of the mod also improved the deck builder so that it has more automation than the previous KeyForge Ultimate mod (which is now gone :(). Once you finish a game with a deck, I think that if you save the game state, it'll remember your enhancements.

DevDev85 [OP]

Thanks for the tip on the mod. How do you stamp decals? I didn't see an option anywhere to do that?

LadyCaffeina

I don't know the specifics, but I can help you hunt down the answer. If you go to the KeyForge Lounge discord (there's an invitation link on this subreddit on the right side, where it says Important Links - KeyForge Discord Server), go to the channel called #tts-development. In that channel, you can ask all sorts of KeyForge TTS specific questions. The creator of LockSmelt (SkyJedi) hangs out there and is super helpful and responsive.
