id be lying if I said I didn't figure this out the hard way via trial and error. seems to me the best ones are the ones with the gunmetal color bits, followed by the black oxide bits with the orange bits far in last place.

Yeah, the gun metal bits are the best and then the oxide. I haven't snapped any of those, but I have snapped the orange ones. Doesn't matter if it's an impact driver o a drill or even, by hand.
