I am a newer player. I bought the mastery pass just 5 days before they announced it would be ending on 9/26. Now that the XP catchup event is shown to be untenable, I want my money back. How do I make this happen?

Like what other people said it’s been known knowledge, you might have too accept your money is gone.

Yet it was not stated on the product.

Pretty sure it doesn’t have too be, you haven’t been scammed nor was it an accidental purchase. So why would you be able to get a refund?

That is misconstrued. I was scammed, as the nature of the product as stated changed after purchase.

How did it change? It was known from the start that it would end at rotation.
_sirberus_ [OP] -3 points · Sep 2019
And where on the product was that stated? Oh wait, nowhere. Try again.

Yes, it was not on the product though they announced when they released it that it would end rotation. Even if you just search this subreddit you will see people answering this same question. Is the deadline not being shown in the product a douchebag move? Maybe. But if money was that important to you, I suggest that next time you purchase something research on it so that you know all the details of the thing you are buying. I was with you at the start cause it can be an honest mistake to not research something you are buying but with your attitude, it seems like you're just pissed off and want something to blame other than yourself.
Edit:Also nothing changed you just didn't research it. Also for you to claim that it changed it means that WOTC somehow told you when that it would not end in rotation and if that did happen kindly show me your evidence on that and I will help get your money back.

You're starting to understand the real problem here. Imagine if I buy a car and the dealership calls me and says 'psych! buried on a page on our website it says that sales are really leases so thanks for the money but yoink!' That doesn't hold up. All details provided at time of purchase. I am undoubtedly not the only person who will run into this, just the only one stubborn enough to wade through the sea of neckbeards who play for 60hrs/wk who are FURIOUS that a new player would DARE to not have ALL the knowlege for some inexplicable reason. See: The entire thread.

As I told you before, it can be an honest mistake not to research something that you will purchase that why I said live and learn. I'm not faulting you for not knowing when the set will end, I'm just stating to you that nothing changed. They didn't change the time when the mastery pass will end. As stated previously, it is a dick move to not state it in the product but your also hold the responsibility of researching something before buying it so that you won't get scammed.
For your example, I won't buy the car before researching about the dealership and reading reviews about them. Asking questions about everything and reading the contract since money is important to me and I don't have money to spare so I ensure that I'm getting the best deal I can get before buying it. WOTC never hid the information. You just didn't look for it. Yes, it was a dick move of them not being upfront on the product on when it would end but they never hid that information. You had the choice not to buy it that moment when you saw that it lacked some info that was important. You could've looked it up or just not bought it. That's why I say live and learn.
Edit: Also resulting to insults is not the proper way to have a civil discussion with someone.

This happens all the time in real life. You always have the recourse of the legal system.

How were you scammed when this information has been around for months? If you open the profile page on MTGA it also shows you that the set rotates out on the 26th, in a flashy red font.

Nothing was stated on the product at the time of purchase. The date of rotation was only announced later. Try again.

So when, according to you, did Wizards announce rotation?
_sirberus_ [OP] -1 points · Sep 2019
Where, according to you, was it stated on the product?
[deleted] 3 points · Sep 2019
They don't have to write it on the product. Otherwise you wouldn't have given them your money and your money is what they want. However the information is readily available on Wizards' official website. If the tiny amount of money you spent is such a big deal to you, you should have done some research beforehand. That doesn't go for just Arena but for everything you purchase in life.
Besides, it's not like they completely robbed you. You still got the cat, avatar, sleeves and any other rewards you'll unlock before rotation, so that's probably at least 10 more items if you play every day from now on. Also there are quite a few free codes you can redeem to instantly gain a bunch of levels. They're only a Google search away.

No one scammed you. You didn't do due diligence on researching what the product is. Stop acting like a child and don't blame anyone else but yourself.
