The official world cup swag they're selling in New Zealand has incredible product labels. They show exactly how much FIFA cares about this tournament

I hope you bought it! Product Names are super hard to come by. I could only find them in XXL and I was super bummed.
Product Names don't have the same style as the Insert Name Here's but Product Names are machine washable so that's a big plus.
The level of incompetency from such an entity like FIFA is just so painful. They're just so massive and so corrupt and just dumb
Just "incompetence"
Omg I did not know about this subreddit. Incredible.
The gear overall was so bad and so hard to get (maaaaassive lines) in France that I only ended up getting a keychain (that very quickly lost all coloring and is now a white t-shirt on a ring) and a scarf that I bought off some enterprising Englishman in the street. The latter was absolutely not official and I love it.
Yo the English unofficial scarves-sellers are the bomb! They turned up on the uefa women’s champions final as well and they are absolute the bomb! Apparently they have scarf-making machines and are selling them for big football/soccer games and since they’re selling like butter on warm bread it’s a no-brainer to make them for big games, even if it’s not fifa/uefa sanctioned. But you’ll notice they will never mention world cup or women’s champions league or so because those are fifa/uefa protected words 🙃
lmao gj FIFA
I wanted to get a scarf from the official FIFA store, but the shipping was more expensive than the scarf.
The FIFA president left the tournament…that and this is all you need to know how they feel. Assholes they are
Genuinely dont understand how they don’t want to profit. Im thinking about how the womens jerseys went viral on twitter and its near impossible to get the size u want, or anything at all, from 80% of the countries

100% this. They’re leaving so much money on the table. The fact that they didn’t have a “customization station” allowing you to buy a team’s jersey and then put a player’s name on the back is mind boggling. There are a million little things like that.
So much money on the table.

No Ireland jerseys in Melbourne and the three Rebel Sports that do customisation only do Matildas. Literally have to go to a specific pop up shop in Sydney if you want numbers for other countries.

I was in New Zealand and I couldn’t find an Ali Riley jersey literally anywhere. I want one so bad. And I left without buying one.

Literally the captain of the national team. $140 FIFA/Nike missed out on times all the other people who would buy it.

Exactly. And her face was plastered all over the place. There weren’t even football ferns jerseys in the adidas store (NZ is an adidas team)
Edit: I’ve been corrected. They’re a Nike team.

Um, NZL is a Nike team.
I didn't see any specific Riley shirts here in Sydney, but they've got the home and away kits at Rebel Sport and some Nike joints.

NZ is a Nike team, I bought my jersey from Nike. They only had blank kits though, and limited stock at that. Rebel sport were advertising the Ferns and the manikins inside were wearing the jerseys but they’re also sold out every store I looked at. I saw USWNT, Brazil, French and Italian kits available while NZ kits out of stock. The suppliers underestimated demand and lost out on a lot of revenue because they didn’t believe in the value of women’s sport.

I guess I’m wrong. I remember seeing football ferns stuff in adidas, but the fact that it wasn’t jerseys confirms you’re right.

If you’re still in NZ or coming back for the quarters Nike on queen st is probably your best bet for getting a name printed on the back. I’m not 100% sure but I have heard they’re the Nike shop with the biggest range of WC swag as it’s where all the tourists go.

Sadly I had to fly home. I live in LA and have Angel city season tix, so I have a feeling I’ll find a way to get one once she comes back.

They had a special good-sized Nike store in the center of Paris in 2019 that was ALL women's world cup gear... and they still didn't offer much in the way of personalization. For a USWNT jersey you could choose between Alex Morgan and Alex Morgan. And I love her but was only going to shell out if they had a Dunn jersey. Instead I wated 6mo and got a plain youth size XL off ebay for a fraction of the price and wore an old NWSL kit to the games. It's just wild how unwilling companies are to just make money off of women's sports fans.

And then they use the lack of profit to argue against equal pay 🙃

Yeah at least some of the lower revenue can be explained by screwups on the business side

Never forget that when Press and Heath signed with United they outsold the men’s players jerseys for the first few days. Women’s soccer fans exist and are willing to spend money if they’re able to buy the products.
