[Music event] Norwich Improv Mafia's Open Jam returns this Wednesday
- At Gonzo's Two Room
- Now every 3rd Wednesday of the month (18th May, 15th June, 20th July, 17th August, 21st September, 19th October)
- 8pm to 11:30pm
- Free entry
- Under 18s can stay until 10pm
First time I posted here people seemed excited, so here it is again. Bring yourselves, your instruments, your voices, and your souls (where applicable).
Expect a wide range of styles, including jazz, funk, hip hop, reggae, salsa, noise, dancing, etc. Whether you want to join in, soak up the creativity, or just fund this endeavour by buying drinks, you'll be in for an unforgettable experience.
After the house band gets things started, we'll start inviting people to join in. We'll have a sign-up sheet; put your name down early to guarantee a slot. Any genre or direction is valid. Just keep your ears switched on and listen to your fellow jammers as we all enter the unknown.

2 months I got charged £15 for two pints and then £12 for the same two pints, amazing business operations!

At Gonzo's? Don't think I've ever been charged £6+ for a beer there, that sucks :/ Prinking is always a valid choice, but they'll have cheaper options for anyone wanting to help keep the event financially viable

It's how they operate, you might've looked very fresh but me - I drink 2 beers and can look tipsy even before i feel it.
I doubt it's what owners want but I've confirmed through people who worked there it's what staff members did as seems still doing... Not the first place in Norwich tho.
Since such experience one lesson is learned, if there's no drinks menu available - 99% you'll get scammed :(
There's a reason these places don't put drinks menu...

Ah, I get what you mean now. Thanks for the tip, I'll try to make sure I know the prices before ordering at bars now. Might be worth contacting the owners of places where staff do this; I'm sure Gonzo's owners would take it seriously as they're nice people and won't want to lose customers.
