Retroactive IL stint

Posting as a warning not to do what I just did - I just turned a man's blister into a 2 month long IL stint because I never knew the rule was that you could only go back 3 days from when you file for the IL.

I never knew about the 3 day restriction and was using a fortuitus stretch of off day spacing to keep skipping my injured starter (with the occasional bullpen game), but I can't dodge him anymore - bullpen's shot. He hasn't pitched since APRIL 25th, and I just found out on May 17th that I can't go retroactive to April.

The maximum an IL stint can be backdated is three days, even if a player hasn't appeared in a game for longer than that. For instance, if a player last played on June 1 but isn't placed on the 10-day IL until June 7, the player's team can backdate the 10-day IL stint to June 4.

It tells you the backdated date when you try to put someone on the IL

Yeah, that’s how I found out.

I assumed it was going to be the last game they appeared in, the popup told me it was only going to be 3 days back, and that’s when I checked the MLB rulebook to see if there was a bug in OOTP and found out I’d screwed myself

The initial injury was a finger blister (1-2 weeks), thought I could skip his start once and not have to burn a week waiting for him to get off the IR - but because I pretty much only play a series a day, I just kept forgetting I’d skipped his last start already
