Do you need to worry about sending related animals e.g. parents and siblings to your reserves?

Just asking as I have some wild boars ready to be released but don't want to shoot myself in the foot by releasing the father and his daughters into the reserve.

I didn’t know the groups didn’t interact, so I sent 3 groups of boar in. Group 1 were all siblings with each other, Group 2 were unrelated to them but all siblings with each other etc. I went in to check later and saw quite a lot of gold rates boar.

Ok cool, good to know.

I’ve done it plenty of times. My reserve is basically all inbred lol. I’ve even sent out a single female aardvark and she had a random baby with no male present. I don’t think the game cares about that on the reserve, because I haven’t seen any repercussions.

It's interesting to me that they introduced the reserve system with so much of your success tied to it only to then allow for inbreeding and immaculate conception to carry the reserve.

Only Solitary Male release groups ^^

You’ve got the right idea

Even stranger was that I sent a solitary owl in just to unlock the research and now there’s 2 owls.

Not exactly but some Release Group types require genetic diversity. It tells you as you are creating the Release Group (and won't let you add if they don't meet the genetic diversity quota)

Once you're at the point of releasing them you are all good

From my experience that doesn't mean they can't be siblings.

They just can't be in the same release group. Most of the animals I've been released are siblings but in different groups.
