breast implant exchange recovery -- what to expect?

so my just fine but won't last forever 30 year old implants (yes they worked great for 30 years) are getting changed just like a set of tires that you know are going to blow some day but are getting ya around just fine til then --- anyhow my surgeon says recovery is a lot easier second time but i am like how can it be with all that tissue in there that has had all that time to make it's home? i just want some honest feedback from someone who has been there done that or knows someone who has been there done that.

I had mine exchanged after 5 years and it was much easier the second time to recover. Mine were under the muscle and so I guess it was easier the second time because it’s already stretched out? I think I took pain pills maybe 3 days and by 2 weeks I felt pretty normal.

I am 2 dpo from implant exchange and lift and had 475cc saline implants and had been wanting silicone because the difference. Recovery day 1 was a bit intense but not the breast rather my shoulder otherwise only day 2

I’m having mine replaced. I’ve also had them for about 30 years. I have no issues with them and they still look great but I just think it’s time mine are above the muscle saline. We’re gonna switch to silicone and stay above the muscle and he said recovery is gonna be easy for me.

Did you do it? Outcome and thoughts? I'm also replacing 30yo saline OTM and switching to silicone. Did you keep same size, go up or down? Things you wish you knew beforehand or afterthoughts?

Yes, I did it. I’m five weeks postop. I stayed over the muscle. I switched to silicone. I developed a seroma. I knew most of the risks , but I never heard about this. I had a lift and my incisions opened up underneath the tea line and I had liquid coming out of me and it was so scary. I don’t know what was going on. Had to be on strong antibiotics which I’m still on to prevent an infection, my doctor had to put in 11 new stitches a little less than two weeks ago. I’m finally healing and that fluid pocket is closing, but I’m still swollen on the left side. The right side is doing fine. This has been a nightmare. Had I known about this setback probably would’ve ever done the surgery. My implants were fine the way they were, but I did need a lift. It’s nothing the surgeon did it’s just my body producing too much fluid to fill those open pockets and it has nowhere to go so it has to come out thankfully no infection.
