Is this possible with or without an agent? I can't seem to make it work or find a definite answer online. Veeam B&R11

Yes, with caveat.
"Server Core installations of Microsoft Windows Server OSes are supported for Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows managed by Veeam Backup & Replication only. Veeam Agent operating in the standalone mode does not support Server Core installations."

What does that even mean?

You've gotta set it up/manage it from your B&R server. Won't work standalone.

What?
So obviously the agent won't install and I can't add it as a standalone machine successfully so I guess I call Veeam support and have them earn the support money we pay them.

You add the server from inside the veeam console and it pushes out the backup agent. It will work this way only. Since there is no gui you can’t install and configure the standalone agent.

That doesn't seem to work.
