Finally, FINALLY have an in-person appointment with my rheumatologist! What to ask?

I am so excited. FINALLY I get to see my doc in person, and hopefully get started on biologics and potentially get some of my life back.

I've got a running list of stuff to ask about / mention:

  • frequency & severity of pain Vitamin D - more than once I've had to be prescribed super high strength stuff as my levels go very very low
  • Side effects etc of biologics (although tbf I don't care if I grow horns at this point)
  • The insane jaw pain/tension I get

Anything else that's worth bringing up?

As to the jaw pain, you could see a specialist (massage therapist/physiotherapist/chiropractor) to help with this. There are a surprising amount of muscles in the anterior neck, jaw and inside the mouth that could be contributing to your pain. I have personally taken a hands on course on this and I can tell you it really helps.

Health insurance. specially with biologicals.

If there is a short term wish for kids... Bring it up.

Some topics you should talk about: - Impact from symptoms on your life. - the urge of a biological - prescan and checkups while on a biological

Good luck with it. Most likely your derm will tell/ask a lot and that will probably cover most of the questions.

I am in the UK so luckily no issues with health insurance and I don't want kids. But the rest is on the list, thank you!

Required lab work for whatever biologic/medication you will start taking.
