Alternate endings and the remaster

Odyssey seems to be getting multiple alternate endings which could alter the canon. It might be possible they're going for an alternate universe approach as well which would make the endings work.

What if the AC3 remaster has an "alternate ending" where Desmond doesn't die. Most people seemed to hate the game for that reason alone. It's the one game that drastically changes the modern day story to a more boring side-stream one. Could they potentially revive the Desmond story-line with this one remaster? They could have remastered 2 and I think the fans would have been more excited for that one, so why 3?

It would give them the ability to continue to have Desmond in the game and revamp the original story from an alternate universe.

Obviously it's a long shot, but one can dream.

But they already did that with the Ezio trilogy.

Desmond will stay dead, Layla is the new MD char and I see no reason to remove her yet.

It's really funny, cause when it was just the original games everyone would always complain at how boring Desmond and his sections of the game were. Now everyone wishes he's back!..mainly for the sole reason that without Desmond..the Abstergo storyline just got..much worse.

In some ways I wouldn't mind that at all actually..the biggest problem I have had with the series past AC III was just how thinly related each game was. I wish that they intertwined narratives a bit more, like they did with Ezio and Altair in Revelations.

They already remastered 2 and the other Ezio games in the Ezio Collection in 2016.

This is a Remaster, not a remake. The story isn't gonna change. Odyssey doesn't have an alternate canon, certainly playthrough just aren't canon. The novel is.
