Cuddles is back!
It was all my fault, because I failed to double check when I locked her enclosure. I ALWAYS double check. But this one time I didn’t, so, of course, that was the time that I didn’t lock it properly. She blew me a razzberry on the way out by leaving a perfect fresh shed hanging from the corner of her enclosure door. This silly girl went walkabout in my home in November, so I had to crank up the heat in my entire home to keep her safe from a respiratory infection, and I have been sweltering and paying ridiculous utility bills. We have been leaving water bowls and hides for her around the place to make sure she would have water, and checking the hides constantly, but she was never in any of them. Tonight I came home late, and when I went in the kitchen and turned on the light, she tried to dash behind the refrigerator, but I caught her first.
I’m delighted to have her back, but I’m a little bit worried: her eyes are blue, as if she is about to shed, but she shed just as she was escaping, definitely hasn’t had anything to eat in the intervening months, so how can she be in shed again? If this doesn’t resolve in a couple of days, I’m taking her to the vet. Matter of fact, I think I am going to take her to the vet anyway, just because. Silly girl. Have any of the rest of you ever seen something like this, where your baby went into shed twice in a row without eating in between?
