Back and neck pain

I've got a bike fit from my LBS. It was my first day road biking. I did a 61km ride in 2h 30m averaging 25km/h. After the first 20 km I encountered a pain in my back and neck area. All I'm asking is how long will it take me to get used to the riding position so I would get over the pain?

Was it pain, or an ache? A new, lower position will cause you to hold your head up more than you're used to and the muscles will ache until you get used to the position and condition the muscles.

If it's a pain, then there's something else at play; your position may be too low, causing you to put more weight on your hands, or the bars may be the wrong width, causing your shoulders to bear a load. A fitting is only as good as the communication between the fitter and the customer, you need to talk to the person that fit you if you paid for it and have them make it right. If you simply bought a bike and they said "that should do it..." then it's simply a starting point and you need to talk to someone experienced in fitting.

It was an ache. I'll see how it'll be after a few weeks. I think its just the fact that I'm not used to the position.

I'm having the same problem with my neck aching, I've only gone on about 6 rides so far and it's getting less and less "achey" on each ride.
