Ear pointing questions
So my wife is interested in ear pointing in the future and I wanted to put some feelers out and get her some information. Mainly regarding the cyborg method vs the folding method vs implants. She likes the look of the folding method best and has also expressed interest in implants depending on how well they would stay.
What are people's expierences with this? Are there downsides to the folding method vs the cyborg method? We have heard that implants do run the risk of rejecting, has anyone expierenced that? And what was the outcome if so?
Thanks in advance to people who answer our questions!

The Cyborg method was developed because the folding method was not ideal. Folding the ear like that is putting constant pressure on the cartilage and also creates a pocket for dead skin and gunk to get stuck into. I wasn't aware of anyone doing that method anymore.

Okay, that makes sense. I've still seen a few on this sub and have come across a couple body modders sites who show they still do the folding method so I wasn't sure if it was just a difference in practice or if there was more to the change in method.
Is the pressure on the cartilage a lifelong thing or just a first year healing thing then it settles over time? I have read some accounts on here from people with folded ears and they haven't mentioned having much pain after the first year, though as with many things, it probably varies from person to person. Also I'm assuming someone who has folded ears would have to be extra vigilant about cleaning the pocket that's created.
Thank you for your answer, I want to make sure my wife is making a well informed and safe choice :).
