Quantum install tech never showed and support said no one was dispatched - is there any way to expedite installation?

I need service in my new home ASAP for work and the closest openings now are almost a week out. Since this was Quantum (or their contractor’s) fault is there a way to skip the line?

Edit: They did in fact reschedule to Monday 8-5 but showed up fairly early and did a good job installing.

Should be carried over to Monday. You may get messages asking for reschedule.

If you don't, pm me and I can look on Monday.

Great, thank you.

I’m not sure if Quantum is covered by this (they should be), but the normal CL CSRs are trash. Use: [email protected]

Yeah, Centurylink setup and service is kinda ass. When I got setup with Centurylink fiber about 3 years ago we got scheduled in, 8am-5pm window, no-show for the entire day, I had to go back and forth with calling, then with chat because their call center was down, whole fiasco. Ended up happening 2x, eventually they came out and once it was setup all good, no issues for the next 3 years.

We just had our internet go out about a week ago, did the troubleshooting and determined myself that for some reason our house's fiber connection was simply shut off, wires were fine but just wasn't receiving a signal. Get on the chat on around the ~18th as it was after hours for their call center (which is ridiculous, a service provider for internet has the only way to contact them as via the internet for over 50% of the day), they said they had scheduled me in for monday the 22nd. I didn't get any confirmation before they ended the chat. I called the next day for a bit more clarification as to what was happening, they said that my router wasn't working and they'd schedule me in for Wednesday the 24th as the earliest appt (turns out the 22nd never got scheduled). It was an unplugged wire at their substation. After that though service is back up and perfect 940 up & down.

If you get a re-schedule or any sort of appointment, make sure that they actively send you the confirmation via text and email. Have it in writing some form or another and make sure that you receive that text/email before you end the call/chat. Outside of that though yeah there's a good chance they'll no-show, which sucks, that 8am-5pm window is ridiculous, and they've been unable to expedite anything in my experience with them, which again sucks, but what can ya do about it. They're the only fiber service in my area so what other option do we have lol.

Yeah I do have xfinity but they charge 10/mo to lose the data caps so I’d like to avoid them out of principle.

Oh yeah, lesser of two evils. I have to choose between Xfinity DSL or Centurylink Fiber. The Fiber is 100% better, but CL knows I ain't got shit for options (as is the case for 99% of their customers) so unfortunately you're at their mercy for scheduling. Again, once its setup its almost completely painless, smooth sailing. But yeah its like herding cats getting them to do anything, they're huge, and I'd just try every type of contact available if you absolutely need the service asap-rocky. But otherwise I'd just send over the slew of shitty auto-chat logs, emails, chats, to hr or whatever online working stuff has to see if they'll treat it like some workplace issue out of your control idk I work as a welder so I don't deal with anything buisnessey/corporate

Getting CenturyLink/quantum fiber is like joining a fraternity as a freshman. You'll go through a lot of hazing, lying, mistreatment and unprofessionalism..

But once you're in, it's pretty damn good. It's very fast and reliable once you get it. It's a much better experience once you can talk to a tech. Anyone you can reach prior is a waste of time

the user imtalkintou should be paid extra. They've single handedly helped so many people on here.

Yeah I had CL at my last place and install went surprising well and everything smooth sailing after that. I guess that set my expectations higher lol
