Geared hunters dominate low level bgs, this and more as we cover this 21 year old news story at eleven!

Yep, high range, very little cast bars, most of damage can be done on the move or with short stops, no one has mounts to run direct to Hunter. It's a shooting gallery.

Pets continuing to maul people even if the hunter has to retreat.

mounts

This one is so freaking huge. Like the SOLE reason they dominate low levels. Being able to outrun, nearly everyone, is incredibly powerful, and as a kiting class, it is EVERYTHING.

Yep, Hunter gameplay changes when a warrior can ride up to you and charge/hamstring as your health bar vanishes and you are applying wing clip or a trap that immediately breaks because someone else attacks that warrior and you get smashed.

I played a lot of 19 twinks as a frost mage and a Druid flag carrier and hunter absolutely dominated there and the 29s, always been this way, not enough classes have the ability to close/escape yet. However I’ve never understood why they can’t be tuned down a little pre 60 when it’s so obvious, like just nerf their lower rank skills damage, nerf their pet dps, etc. Hunters seem to dominate dungeon dps at low levels too (although it’s hard to say what’s in-built vs beta gearing) unless heavy aoe is involved.

because their damage isn't the problem, the other guys ability to catch up to them is. the best way to balance low level hunters is giving classes their gap closers (and mounts) earlier.
