It’s cause Ice Lance numbers as they stand will likely be a concern at 60 as well (for PvP).
Ice Lance max rank does a base average of 152. Its usual coefficient in different versions is like 15%. At level 60 in MC gear a mage had around 650 spell damage. 650 times 0.15 plus 152 is 250 rounded.
250 that basically is a guaranteed crit (on a frozen target), so 250 times 2.5 is 625. 625 times the 4x multiplier on a frozen target is 2500 damage on an instant cast.
Unless stamina on gear is super inflated from classic numbers, mages will be 2 shotting everyone with Ice Lance at 60.
So I don’t think the communities concern around the balancing of this spell is misplaced.
then adress it at 60 crying to the wolves right now will just fuck specs and class up in the long run ( sod bm hunters) .... stop hyper focus on shit that wont happen on release
You're right, time to nerf hunters at max level because of twinked level 30s /s
Seems fine to me. Twinks gonna twink.

Yet a dozen “delete icelance!” Posts get upvoted to the top of the sub every day for the same reason
