Simultaneous global release time? Or just same local date?

I’ve pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition on the Australian PlayStation Store, which grants the 48 hour early access.

The text description says it should release on September 22, but the PlayStation unlock timer (which is always the final word) has it set to unlock at midnight on September 23 in my local time (AEST: UTC+10).

Is there a simultaneous global release time, with it being midnight for me just being a coincidence, or did somebody make a mistake?

FWIW, midnight September 23 in AEST would be 2pm September 22 in UTC. I’m curious as to whether all of the other people on PlayStation who pre-ordered the digital deluxe version are seeing the ‘2pm September 22 in UTC’ release countdown as well.

UPDATE: Looks like that’s the time that everyone is seeing on the PlayStation Store. So it will be a simultaneous global unlock time of 2pm (UTC) on September 22 for the digital deluxe pre-orders.

Yeah it looks like it’s a worldwide unlock time. Which means it won’t unlock early if you ordered from the AUS store or do the New Zealand trick on Xbox.

Yeah I’m Australian, so ordering from the AUS store is the only option available to me 😁

I don't think there's been any official information about exact release timings, they'll probably put that information out closer to launch.

In my experience, when there’s been a conflict between what the dev announces and what the PlayStation store countdown timer says, the PlayStation store countdown timer wins every time.

Awesome! So I’m assuming that’s EDT (UTC-4) rather than EST (UTC-5).

If so then that would exactly match up, so that would mean a simultaneous global launch at 2pm (UTC) on September 22.

yeah qld resident here(that's the state for any non aussies) and the countdown shows for midnight on the 23rd and the normal release date listed as the 25th here, i was very confused by that given everywhere was saying it would be the 24th meaning deluxe would be 22nd but alas that's not the case for me

Yeah 23rd and 25th for Australia and New Zealand. Midnight AEST for us, 2am NZST for kiwis.
