First GMC ride in my life

So, past week i had my first GMC rental in my life, and i had GMC Sierra.

I am not going to lie, it’s one of the nicest trucks I’ve seen. And before i used to be a Ford guy, but Ford is nowhere near.

Are specific years to look for or diesel options to consider? Also hows the quality long term?

They make millions of them, so issues are common. I’ve had a few warranty repairs (2 blown injector and a bad wiring harness) but still love driving my 24 3.0 diesel. I’d say for what you get, it’s cheaper than a yota (similar trim would likely be 5-10k more) and I like the way they drive better than a ford or dodge. You could get an extended warranty, but I drive 20kish miles a year so it wasn’t worth it to me.

Is diesel go to compare to gas?

The 3.0l gets really good fuel mileage and a good balance between power and efficiency. Long term break even is debatable because parts can be expensive. I’d just go test drive them and buy whatever you like. Anything and everything will eventually break.

They fixed some things with the 3.0L diesel for 2023 so look for a 2023 or newer

I’ve had Chevy/GMC gas trucks and Ford gas, but my ‘25 Sierra with the 3.0 diesel takes the cake. I would go buy another in a heartbeat.
