I’ve never messed with Impactful Throws before, but I’m wondering how well it could work in conjunction with Deft Hands on an Assassin build: knock an enemy down, get a critical strike and 3 seconds off all of your cooldowns.
Any tips on Impactful Throw builds? And has anyone tested one in conjunction with Deft Hands?

If there was some kind of synergy between knockdown crits and actual crit strikes, then I’d think the legendary water katana that causes knockdown on stagger would gel even better than impactful throws.

I tested deft hands with impactful throws and it does work. I shoulder charged enemies and perform a crit strike at knocked down enemies and it definitely speeds up cooldowns. I can't say if it's viable to create a build around it though.

It's not hard to test yourself. Try it on a solo survival match on wave 0 and see how efficient you can make it. I just don't have all the necessary gear to put together a build. I've never used impactful throws on anything. I just happened to have a random loot with it that i used to test.
Did you have any ‘cooldown on kill’ rolled on your other items? Are you sure the cooldown boost isn’t coming from that stat?
I do but i didn't check thoroughly. You may be right. I have limited junk loot to use and all my gear has cooldown on kill, I might try it later but you can test it yourself to confirm in case if i made a mistake. it only tales a few seconds.
I tested it without any ‘cooldown reduction on kill’ on anything, and can confirm that the ‘square’ prompt attacks on enemies as a result of Impactful Throws absolutely DO work with Deft Hands to reduce all of your ghost weapon cooldowns by 3s 😃
Yup. Can confirm. i retested just now with nothing except the charm and it works. Good luck with putting together your build.
I tried something similar with the hunter perk for 100% draw speed on assassination and a windmaster katana kick to trigger. But no luck.
It seems like a bug to me and we might get the Devs to integrate it next patch
Even if they just enabled it to work with Deft Hands. It’s another new/interesting build to try with Assassin. I can’t see it being OP, just different, and I’d think that’s always welcome.

There was a thread from the time it released that the impactful throw knockdown effect stacks with deft hands, im sorry so many are contributing otherwise even though in the end u found it does.
It's sad to see alot of people will give incorrect info when they clearly have no idea.
It was exactly the same on the discord actually. People were just trying to help, it just seems that it was a common misconception. All good.
i don't believe the knockdown attack counts as a critical strike/assassination, and even if it did you would have to run super mid wind katana which only works on non-oni enemies which die very quickly anyways; overall on higher difficulties i wouldn't bother but I would love to see someone try it.

I’ve tested it and can confirm that the impactful throws ‘square’ prompt attack DOES count towards the Deft Hands ghost weapon cooldowns. Could be some interesting possibilities there. I don’t think it’ll be anything earth shattering, but it’s always nice to have new options/ways to play, especially on Assassins.

This. I think it has to say "crit" or "assassinate" on the prompt to count as well.
Impactful throw could be useful pairing up with other perks though.
