Grok Build now runs inside an Android app and taps through your apps for you
I built Buddy, an open-source Android app where coding agents use your phone for you. Grok Build is now one of them, next to Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode and Antigravity.
xAI's grok binary runs inside the app, in a small Alpine Linux (proot). It's a static aarch64 build, so it worked as is. You sign in with the device code (grok login --device-auth), and Buddy gives it phone tools over a local MCP server: read the screen, tap, type, scroll, open apps. Buddy itself stops on Send/Pay/Delete buttons until you approve.
Google Play (closed testing for now): join https://groups.google.com/g/buddy-testers, then opt in at https://play.google.com/apps/testing/app.buddy.assistant
