This book my parents got me
I’m pretty certain this whole book is AI generated, mostly based on the general vibe it has and how it has some art inside it that is absolutely AI generated. (I didn’t include the art in the post because it’s not the part I’m asking about.) But I don’t have any real evidence beyond that. Does anyone know anything about this author, their publishing history, or if this particular book happens to be confirmed or deconfirmed as AI created?

Is there a human author photo in the back?
Searching "Timothy Ludwig author" shows no official author page, a number of books with AI generated covers and wildly different subject matter which suggests- but doesn't prove- that it's all AI. There are a few real Timothy Ludwigs so their books could be messing up the results but I'd bet a small amount of money the book you have is all AI.
Also mystical topics like this are very easy for AI to write about since a lot of sources recycle and retell the same stories and information.
A bummer, because there are a bunch of cool real books about fairy sightings. Katharine Briggs' Encyclopedia of Fairies, Seeing Fairies, Celtic Twilight, Fairies- Real Encounters with the Little People etc etc. Googling "Real fairy sightings books" will get you more titles than you have time to read.

Yeah, you found the same information I found. Like you said, suggests but doesn't prove. No human picture on the back, sadly. The book DOES have a bibliography, but I'm unsure if that proves anything, since AI can generate one of those. I suppose I could check and see if sources in the bibliography are real or not, but that feels like a waste of time, because them being real doesn't prove much. Although I will also say that the bibliography is formatted really suspiciously, like it was intended to be read online instead of in a physical book. Not sure what to make of that. The author could just be an idiot.
I'm a huge fairy tale enthusiast, and my parents didn't think this was AI, so the sentiment is still very nice. But it is still a shame.
