BLR .243 query
Hi all, I have a post 81 lightweight BLR im looking for some opinions/advice on.
Being out of production and chambered in .243 I have decided to unofficially deign it the missus rifle as im a bit concerned about the barrel life. I am considering putting a skinner express reciever mount peep sight on it and removing its 2-7x33 scope, which i intend to install on a .22 bolt. I think the peep would look great with the BLR's bluing and gold trigger, as well as be fitting for a lightweight lever rifle.
My concern is the chambering. While reasonably accurate, the BLR trigger is rather heavy and doesn't lend its self to precision shots. I might be pandering to the crowd here but does a peep sight make sense for a BLR in .243? I know i wont be getting the most out of the cartridge but i at least wont have to fuss over elevation on the peep, shooting as flat as a .243 does. Can anyone advise of any other factors to consider?
Thank you

I think it’ll be a fine combination, as long as you’re not taking 600 yard shots on a regular basis it will more than meet your needs.
