Honestly seeing Beyonce talk about having a vocal injury, or being concerned with that from a young age, even briefly in this article is really affirming. Every time I sing since I was first diagnosed with vocal nodules, especially solo, it's at least a little bit of cost benefit analysis: how high can I go, how loud can I be, how much can I handle without accidentally overextending? My nodules are at the point where they're so small that they don't affect my day to day unless I sing or talk a lot, or unless my LPR (acid reflux) is acting up, but they're enough of a looming spectre that it takes consistent maintenance to ensure they don't return full force. It can sometimes feel like other singers, especially high profile ones, can just go and go and don't have to think about the kinds of things, which can be really frustrating and difficult. So seeing arguably one of the best performers of our time even mention nodules/vocal rest, and mention the care she has to put in to being so excellent, makes me feel way less alone. Thank you for sharing ❤️
They can, but it depends on how long you've had them and how you treat them! Mine were in place long enough and never had full surgical removal, so they'll be there at least in the background long term, but that is not true for everyone! It's all very individual, and if you take good care of them early and often the prognosis is very good
