Brilliant. I had exactly the same idea, 10 years ago, but the developers I had selected stole it (and miserably failed). At the time I didn't have a clue on how to do something like that, I only started programming 4 yrs ago after growing frustrated with my inability to do things by myself.
I still think there's a need for it, and if you want I have a logo. You can have it for free, in case.

Hi React Native Community - I wanted to share a project I have been working on. I started out in Data Analytics and made Ping Messenger a personal project to switch careers.

The purpose of the application is to make a post or share an activity with friends instead of texting people individually or via group chats.

I've been using the app with my friends and also made new friends using it! There is a feature that allows you to share posts with friends of friends.

Anyway, I'm looking to keep this as a side project and am still making improvements. I'm trying to help people save time and make it easier for friends to make plans. If you want to give it a try - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ping-messenger/id1499416785.

I'm very open to feedback and so please let me know your thoughts! :)

Many thanks to the people behind these great libraries:

  • firebase
  • react-native-reanimated
  • react-navigation-shared-element
  • redux
  • expo
  • react-navigation

Also, feel free to reach out if you ever want to collaborate!

It is very well made and the idea is interesting and unique as well, my only question would be what did you use for testing and how did you handle the legal side of the app

anzoni [OP]

Thanks! - I don't have any testing libraries implemented haha so it's mostly just the ol' console.log() . For the legal side - I just used some generic terms and conditions and privacy policy generator online and make some changes to them

Dont forget to change the statusbar color using StatusBar api from react native

anzoni [OP]

Good catch - thanks!

anzoni [OP]

Oh actually it’s red because I’m recording the screen

Nice except the font. Change the font. You need a modern font, the one you have looks old school.

anzoni [OP]

any suggestions? :)

[deleted]

Just Google modern fonts. There are hundreds and even articles that say which ones are popular in 2021

What library do you use for component animations on mount after pressing the card?

anzoni [OP]

react-native-animatable

redhedjim

Very cool! I’m going to download it and give it a try.

thanks - please let me know what you think!

What you used for the header at 0:30? Also, what are you using for the shadows at the cards? Also, those shadows looks too big, I think shorter shadows are better.

Very cool App. I wanted to know which api you used to show the map. Is it Google or some open source?
