This is bollocks. Why wouldn't Ferdinand start? Who's starting for England alongside Terry? The only ones that can other than Kelly are Lescott or Jagielka, neither of which are better than Ferdinand. This is a joke. People disliked Capello, but Hodgson isn't getting off to a great start. He's putting petty bullshit like this in front of the needs of the team, when Ferdinand would play whether Terry was there or not, and he's not even man enough to come out and say the real reason he wasn't called up.
Lescott in numbers had a better season than ferdinand. But going by performances alone Ferdinand had a better season than Terry. He should have been a starter. He just tell woy and FA to fuck off and just concentrate on United.
Numbers never tell the whole story. I'm not trying to take anything away from Lescott, but Ferdinand played in a less talented team that was riddled with injuries. I'd say it becomes more difficult to perform when your partner in the back of the past few years and likely best defender in the world is gone for the entire season. Additionally, club play doesn't always coincide with international play, some players simply play better in one than in the other.
I agree. I for one am glad, because now I doubt Ferdinand will want to work with Hodgson, so I don't think he'll play for England again until he leaves. That's good news for us, his career is prolonged.
