Code rot is getting out of hand.

I've been a paid customer since they started the service, and from my years of experience Spotify keeps getting worse. A few months ago Sportify Connect stopped functioning. After some search, I found that this issue has been reported by countless customers for years. Apparently it's due to some backend bug tied to individual accounts. After several support sessions, I tried a provided test account that fixed the issue as if by magic -- all of my clients immediately saw each other.

Great, please fix my account. The answer was they couldn't fix it! This is a known reproducible issue for years and the solution is to wipe the account and create a new one, BUT I'll lose my artists, free Hulu, suggested channels, etc. So, now i have to weigh the Connect feature against those features? Okay, I'll work around not using Connect...

As of the last few weeks I've got a new Issue: Spotify no longer plays music without randomly pausing. Again, a years old bug. Again, countless affected users. Again, a bug in the most basic core functionality. Imagine gearing up for a motorcycle ride, hitting play, zipping the phone away, and the music stops five minutes into the ride necessitating pulling over, taking gloves off...

It's all just disheartening. These bugs are open for 3+ years! It will probably never be fixed, and the support response invokes nothing but hopeless anger:

Me: You guys can't file bugs?

Me: I don't want to lose Hulu or rebuild my artist list

Precious D.: We want to make sure that all users are provided with equally great service, so I appreciate you've reported again to us about your Connect that's still not working properly.

Don't worry! I've also forwarded your feedback to the relevant folks here at Spotify.

Rest assured that your voice resounds in our ears and it will never be left unheard.

Precious D.: If you're sure you don't want to proceed with the transfer, you can use your devices apps on their own in the meantime.

Precious D.: Would that be all for today?

Me: Sure, I'll wait for a fix. So you're saying an open ticket is in effect now? It will be followed up internally?

Me: You've been kind, but this was not exactly satisfactory.

Me: My paid service of ~10 years is still broken and I have to give up Hulu and my settings to fix it.

Precious D.: I've made the relevant folks aware about this now, so all you need to do is sit back and wait for a fix.

With fingers crossed, our tech folks shall came up with a fix.

I definitely understand you don't want to give up Hulu just to fix this, as this has been a great deal. I'll make sure this will be heard by the right team.

Precious D.: In the meantime, is there anything else I can help you with?

Me: Nope, that's it. Will there be any update communicated with me?

Precious D.: We'll let everyone in the Community know about our updates. You can keep an eye out there :)

"You can keep an eye out there".

Dear Spotify, after spending over a thousand dollars on your service; go fuck yourselves.

Just stop giving them money. That is the only way they will alter course.

But until enough people do that, the train will keep rolling.

And I guarantee 99% of the folks whinging about this update will still pay for it every month.
