Vol. 9 spoilers: They're talking about this colored illustration from the beginning of vol. 9. In the LN, this happens immediately after they both collapse to the ground (where this episode ended).

Yeah, i had hoped that that was how ep 1 would end, though it's likely that ep 2 will start with that scene before OP.

Same here, last scene -> OP -> UW scene. If this format happened, then anime onlys will be less confused.
