Since we're sharing Total Wars, this is the one I really want

Yeah, but I don't think Intergalactic Genocide: Total War, is really going to be a great branding for anyone.
To be fair we had Attila and can play factions in Warhammer that want to do worse than genocide.
Yeah, but nothing in Total War matches the sheer scale of the warcrimes in Stellaris.
Like, genetically engineer an entire interstellar species we conquered to make them more docile laborers? Yeah, we can't do that in Total War.
Im not well versed in 40k, but that sounds like a very 40k thing to do
Ironically, that one's not really a 40k thing, but is something you'll see in Stellaris.
There's a lot of 40k references, including things like Geneseed Warriors, and a psychic hell scape that can breach into reality.
But, there's also a lot of other references, to things like Star Trek, Foundation, Babylon 5, Dune, I'm pretty sure there's Farscape references in there.
And, yeah, the sheer scale of war crimes is off the meter.
I'm still reminded of the guy who was playing a machine intelligence. He conquered a nearby world, and then started processing the people who lived on that world into food, which he then traded back to the race he'd been at war with.
There's also cyborg races that will forcibly assimilate other races that find themselves in their territory. So, you can, in fact, play the Borg. Either as the aggressive version seen in Trek, or one that puts on a friendly face first, before shoving you full of electronics.
There is some genuinely messed up stuff that you can do in that game.
i see. well, i'll be happy if we get a total war series that's based on future tech and intergalactic conquest. fighting with an armada or spaceships just seems like a very enjoyable time.
It's an older title, but Star Wars : Empire at War was really fucking great. It's an easy recommendation in that range. (And the capital ship combat has a lot of depth.)
Of course, Stellaris does exist as well. It's pretty good and extremely flexible.
A third option would be Sins of a Solar Empire. I haven't gotten around to Sins 2, however.
What game is that? It looks like Stellaris, but the generation seems unfamiliar to me.
it's from the anime Legends of the galactic heroes
