Irritated Bridge piercing

Hi all, I've had this bridge piercing for probably over a year now and recently it's become rather irritated. I suspect it's is in response to the jewlery I was wearing and for now I've taken it out and the irritation has settled down over the past 24 hrs since. I have better jewlery on the way but I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to keep it from healing over in the meantime... its my favourite piercing and I'm really sad I had to take it out even if it was for the best and I really don't want it to close. Any advice it welcome.

well first off, put the jewelry back in if you want to keep the piercing. shitty jewelry is better than no jewelry in this situation. and the irritation you’re going to cause from trying to push through a partially-closed hole will do just as much short-term damage as shitty quality metal.

treat it like a fresh piercing (cleaning daily with sterile saline, not touching otherwise) until, and after, your better jewelry arrives. and now you’ve learned why good quality jewelry is so important.

I will try that, may need to go to my piercer to get it reinserted. The annoying this is I make a point to make sure my jewlery is implant grade titanium and when the irritation first popped up my piercer replaced the jewlery i had in with her stock, and that's what I've been wearing. The stuff I get from her is usually good but this one is really fucking with me for some reason. Idk, maybe it was just a bad piece, I really hope the piece I got helps when it comes in.
