Thank you for the Rain.
Dismiss my emotions, my thoughts, and my plea,
Ignore the effort and time I’ve invested in you.
Validation wasn’t my goal,
Just a conversation, or so I thought.
Yet you taught me love in its most cruel form,
To hate your name and brace the storm.
Pleasant moments fade into gray,
What did I do to deserve such dismay?
Exhaustion, pain, a battle fought hard,
Bleeding physically, my scars a guard.
I concealed the truth each time we met,
But the pain remains, a memory set.
The depth of hurt, a lesson learned,
But in my mind, it fiercely burned.
Being with you is a silent struggle,
Until numb, I face this life.
Sympathy fades, my care is spent,
On feelings deep, my heart is bent.
Thank you for loving with control,
For manipulating, for taking your toll.
Here I rest, with pain my shroud,
In this grave, I stand unbowed with my name.
