Massive difference is the discard to get the effect; this is way more Faithless Looting (still strong) than it is Ponder/Preordain. It's not card advantage, it's inherent disadvantage with some selection.

Use the extra bases you have and make "standees" out of printed-out pictures of heroes and toothpicks; if someone wants to use a model someone else is currently using, just let them use a proxy. Like you said, it's super-casual, not a tournament, so just go full print-and-play.

If you think MaXXXine has coherent themes that tie everything together, you'd be the first.

The massive, overwhelming criticism of it by basically everyone is that it's a pastiche of Giallos and Abel Ferrera grime with about 4 too many plots and a dumb ending that comes from left field. Nothing is paid off and entire characters could be cut from the movie and lose nothing.

If you got something out of it, great, but I disagree that the film has any coherent theme or throughline other than "Mia Goth is pretty and good at acting"

It's only a matter of time until we get "Pilot" upgrades like Baron Soontir Fel or Jek Porkins, which will totally change space combat. I wouldn't worry, there's a lot of depth just in units, upgrades and events.

Just for funsies: what's the difference between an enchantment and an artifact, mechanically? Other than cards that reference one type or the other, nothing. More Types =/= Better Than!

It's so, so much better than Commander. I hate Commander, mostly because games go on for-freakin-ever. Twin Suns solves this by saying "Game's over when 1 person is out, highest life total wins" (with a 5-point heal for taking someone out), so you can't dilly-dally or turtle and play kingmaker - you have to actively try to win while not losing! It forces you to act rather than re-act, and that's great! Also games only take a half-hour for a four-player game, rather than all night.
