Hi Six_of_1 - I'm part of the team who worked on this one and I promise, we're not leaning into that trope, although I can see why you questioned it.
At the time when the events took place, this particular part of Greenhithe was still undeveloped, and the house where it all happened was still very isolated. We looked into the history of that area, and found that the Māori name for the area that became that specific road was quite unusual, and had an eerie resonance to the events that happened in the story. We did check the translation and pronunciation with some of our viewers who were able to help out there.
I don't want to go into more detail here in case it spoils the story for anyone who might watch, but I promise it's treated respectfully and we don't speculate about old burial grounds at all :) If you do check out the video, I'd love to know what you think!

I'm warmly seconding Nigel's recommendation there - I thoroughly enjoyed all three courses, and it was a great opportunity to learn from someone who is genuinely an expert in the field. When I did it, there were only three of us on the early course, and just two by the end so I'm glad that it's growing! (And having read said Uncanny spoof, there's absolutely nothing to forgive there!)

I'm so glad you mentioned this - I help out on the channel, and watched it just before I started doing the artwork for this episode :) It was fascinating, and such a useful resource!

That's really kind, thank you! I'm always a bit nervous sharing someone's own words back to them, but I'm so pleased you're happy with it! Yeah, the roof looks relatively new, I only started exploring over that was about five years ago, although I've been in MK since 2002.
Thank you again for being so open - it's a great story :)

PS If you'd like to have a read, my take on your very spooky story is now up on my blog. If you'd like me to make any tweaks or changes, just let me know! https://cityofsecrets.blog/2025/05/23/human-ish-but-hovering-bradwell/

Hi there! I know just where you mean, it is a creepy spot. Appreciate this is quite an old thread, but thought I'd comment on the off-chance - I'm collecting ghost/spooky stories from around Milton Keynes at the moment - would you mind if I added your story here to my map? Absolutely no probs if you're not up for it, but I'm making a point to check with folks rather than just scraping 'content' (yuk) from different places
You can read more about the project here: https://cityofsecrets.blog/revenants-on-the-redway/
Cheers!

Thank you both *so* much - this issue has been a real pain today with my HomePod mini and paired non-mini HomePods, but just restarting my phone has now cleared it. Hoorah for reddit :)
And that's a very fair point, I hear you on that! :)
