I’m not sure though, if I’m really addicted or if it’s just a useful tool for me.

Both things can be true!

I did this pattern for my baby, https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/578042293/rainbow-of-stars-blanket-afghan-baby, we used it a lot during winter in the pram. Its pretty simple.

I tend to go for cotton because of sensitive skin, but that thing takea FOREVER to dry after being washed, which is the downside! I think acrylic is fine to use, as blankets will geberally be used with supervision so overheating is less of an issue, (as you will be monitoring them) and the fabric will generally not be right next to their skin anyway.

I would donate to the hospice that my dad ended up in, or Marie Curie, as we had wonderful experiences (as much as you can due to their nature) with them when we needed them.

Other cancer charities (that I am sure do help others in different circumstances) were useless to us, or actually made us waste time trying to get resources they were not going to offer us. So I wouldn't personally give to them, although my experience does not determin how useful the charity is as a whole.

The hospice my dad was at was amazing. The one I am familure with had government funding as far as I was aware, and has a top up of charity donations.

Exactly my thought!! I maybe wouldn't mind someone maybe making a suggestion they she might find shorts more comfortable... but the suggestion that shorts would "prevent something from happening" would get my hackles up.

Yeah now that I have a toddler and have friends who also have toddlers, I know that if they live more than 30min away I will see them once a month at best. If they live in my suburb I can catch them multiple times a week.

Jane The Virgin!

And those places will be there to visit again if your SO ever gets round to going with you.

My sister thinks however that tveryone should be entitled to kids without justification, what are your thoughts?

I do not think everyone is entitled to have children. Not discussing money, but some people are not emotionally able to and would make terrible parents. So i really think "entitled" is not a word I would use.

I think every child that exists is entitled to a good life. I think society should be set up in a way that that is achievable. Subsidised childchare, free school meals etc for people who cannot afford it.

I think in reality our society is not really set up like that, and a lot of children will suffer if their parents do not have sufficient funds. I don't think that is fair, but it is something people have to concider before having children. We have to bring children into the world we have, not the one we would like.

I just know that in an episode of the Resident 😆 someone needed a kidney and wouldn't be put on the list until she was 6m sober, but they said at other hospitals they didn't have the same delay. But then the wait would be years beyond that once they were on the list. But if a family member donated they didn't have this wait, and they could do it straight away.

According_Debate_334

I think I would. Having a daughter I would want to save her dad (on top of saving my partner) but would also worry about us both going in for surgery because of the risks. But I believe the risk is minimal for donors, but would obviously have to educate myself as my knowledge comes from TV...

I think if it was alcoholism or addiction I would want to know he was in a place mentally and physically that the donation would have a chance. This would also depend how urgently he needed it, and if we could wait until he was in a better place with sobriety etc. So the circumstances would change things a bit.

According_Debate_334

My knowledge comes from TV so could be 100% wrong, but think the rules might be x amount of time sober, depending on the country/hopsital/area? And the rules might be less strict if it is a family member donating vs being put on the transplant list.

I was in a relationship from 21, we are still together and have a child. I personally believe you will only regret it if your relationship holds you back.

Being in a relationship or not will not guarantee you being single or coupled in your 30s, so IMO it is pointless worrying about dating is being harder.

I personally do not regret it, but my relationship allowed room for us to persue our own interests and live our own lives. We did long distance for quite a bit due to persuing travel, work and education. We didn't really make sacrifices for each other until we got more serious and had a daughter, even then its a discussion on what is best for everyone.

My partner is not perfect and we do not have a perfect relationship, but he is a wonderful man and a great partner and father. I am glad we stayed together and do not regret not being single in my 20s. I had a couple of boyfriends before, relationships lasting roughly a year, and dated a few other people as well. Honestly I think having him there allowed me to focus less on dating and men and focus more on friendships, study and what I wanted to do with my life.

According_Debate_334

Yeah, occasionally I might enjit getting dressed up and putting make up on. But I have a toddler now so if I had to do all that everytime I wanted to go out I would... basically never leave the house.

Getting out the house > than looking good doing it.

According_Debate_334

I personally feel this is a conversation to have with your husband and not your neighbour. Tell him to redirect her to your other flatmates or simply say hes busy if it makes you feel uncomfortable. It does sound like she is seeking hisnattention, but its really his job to shut it down IMO.

According_Debate_334

I mean I have seen staff in my local Myers using microwaves in parents rooms and its a bit off putting, having random people walk in when you are looking for a quiet place to breasfeed your distractable baby.

Having worked in that exact same Myer, I know they have access to a staff room with multiple microwaves. Most places large enough to have a parents room (malls, shopping centres) are also plenty big enough to have a staff room.

Even after 3 weeks in hopsital he still says you are overreacting... yeah not NTA.

But also, you do not need permission to break up with someone, simply wanting to break up with them is 100% enough reason, and your friends opinions aren't really relevant. You do not owe someone a relationship.

According_Debate_334

I’m wondering if there is a tactful way I can approach a conversation where I lay out an ask for a tidier home.

I don't really think you can really "lay out an ask". I don't think there is a magical phrasing that will get you what you want.

I think the only way is to sit down and have a serious conversation about what you both want and expect. Lay it all out and see if you can come to some sort of compromise that will satisfy you both. If you cannot, it is a sign that you will not be compatible.

According_Debate_334

Just a heads up, when people ask this question folks who do it more often are more likely to answer, just like how on "what's your salary" threads people making over 100k are way more likely to answer.

Particularly when OP has stated her frequency as being relatively high. If she had stated she did it very infrequently people might chime in with their similar numbers.

According_Debate_334

I have a young child so I wouldn't appreciate him going out too frequently simply because it would mean all the burden of parenting would fall to me.

But in what you have described, your partner sounds like someone with a severe case of alcohol dependency and I would not want to be with them unless they wanted to get better.

ETA: Even before we had a child, if my partner went MIA for an entire weekend even once, I would be reconcidering the whole relationship. I would at least need a text to let me know he is ok.

According_Debate_334

I mean, my point still stands... plus a dentist prescribing anyone BC would be very suspect.

According_Debate_334

I just recommended it as well, I was originally recommended it on here so it was probably you!

As a Buffy fan I have been enjoying the October Daye series by Seanan McGuire. Its about fae (faries) but half set in the "real" world. The main character is a private detective.

The audiobook of one of the authors other books is also read by Amber Benson, which I want to get around to.

According_Debate_334

For things like lotions or shampoos that are in pump containers or similar (i.e. you do not stick your finders in the container) I would give it away on FB. I have give shampoos and things that don't agree with my skin but are otherwise fine to use.

Personally for "contaminated" things I toss them. Things like lipsticks, mascara or anything that you use your fingers to scoop up (unless you have used something "clean" like qtips or spatulas).

According_Debate_334

For me I would add that it was ethical. I guess that falls into"fullfilling". I would be turned off by a man who didn't care that his job was actively making the world worse. He doesn't need to be saving the world, but at least care about his impact.
