That kid is going into Law for real.

It sounds like she is using you as her emotional p*nching bag. NOR, and for your own mental health, you should probably at least spend less time with her, if not altogether cutting her off. It’s a very unhealthy dynamic, and seems closer to bullying than friendship.

Derpy feathered cobra is big scary!

I saw this full video last week, and I loved that at the very end of that clip. She was encouraging the prisoner to consider suing the county for her mistreatment while in jail! We need more judges like this, capable of basic humanity.

Pray to whatever higher power you believe in that this man stays safe and vocal! He’s got to be losing sleep out of fear, but the brass balls he has to go up against these evil monsters is just remarkable.

The way I would have a small fountain installed and lots of decorations to blend that into my garden sooooo fast!! I love watching the communal birdbath!😍

One of my best friends in middle school got pregnant at 13 by a 33 year old man. Her mother totally approved of the relationship, and she dropped out and ended up having 6 more kids by the time I had my 1st at 34! Seven children, and an abusive and controlling ex who STILL won’t leave her alone. We’re now 49, and he is 69 years old and still an absolute asshole.
I’m so relieved that the internet has helped illuminate just how prolific and utterly, disgustingly wrong this was. She was literally a child and her mother basically pimped her out to a grown ass man. A really gross one at that!
Having said all this, my husband is nearly 20 years older than me, but I didn’t even meet him until my late 20s. I had dated dozens of boys and men my own age and made the conscious decision to chase him. Still happy about that choice today, almost 25 years later. The difference being in experience and the ability to use discernment. A child has no such ability.

Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but cute is in the eye of the cat-holder. Especially when the cat is on the shoulder 😉💗

1 is so timelessly elegant! Go for that one!!

When my mom and dad bought be my first old beater I was so grateful and excited! It was a bright yellow early 80s convertible, and it was rusting like crazy, didn’t always want to start, and wasn’t ideal for Midwest weather, but I loved that damned car so much. I named it Sunny and painted sunflowers all over to hide the rust spots. Drove it for years until she just wouldn’t go anymore. My roommates and friends held a bonfire vigil for her with me, the night before I sold her for scrap. I can’t wait to buy my almost 16 year old son his first vehicle. He already knows the one he wants: my brother’s ancient blue and white Ford F-150. It’s a reliable old rust-bucket too 🥹

It wasn’t that easy for me at all. I believe it is different for every county/state. I had to register my new name with the DMV and county, and of course the SS office had to be my first step before I could do any of that. Then all the paperwork for new passport, bank accounts, credit cards, and my university registration.
It isn’t easy for women either just because we get married. OP’s BF just needs to bite the bullet and get the process started. He can have it done before the baby is born if he gets off his ass and just does it.

It’s the same here! My mom and sister are planning a Silver Anniversary party for us this June, to coincide a week after my 50th birthday! 🥹

Not only my husband, but BOTH of my teenage boys. I also adopted 3 kids and they all washed their own laundry, both girls and our son. They are grown now and in college or graduated and manage all of their own chores without question. It really is as simple as training them from a young age to take pride in their ability to take care of themselves. Cooking was also an essential skill we taught all of our children.

This tracks. My ex from about 28 was from Pakistan and absolutely would not take NO for an answer. It was definitely a cultural thing, and keep in mind that even “westernized” men in that culture will often have it so ingrained that they don’t think women/girls have autonomy. I married an Indian man a couple years later and he has never made me feel like women were less than, and we celebrate 25 years marriage in June.
Keep your distance from this guy, they can be very very possessive, especially when they think you shouldn’t be allowed to think for yourself….

We’re coming up on 25 years of marriage in June and don’t normally do anything on Valentine’s but this year we are going to do a Cupid Kids thing for our teenagers and their friends the night before. It’s just something I organized for our very small private high school kids as a dance/date night event the last few years.
My husband and I are planning the entire thing, so I think it’ll be fun to decorate and hang out together on the day. Not sure how much fun we can have chaperoning 60 high schoolers, but we do usually sneak a dance or two in. We also make a nice homemade curry dinner every year, so we will probably do that on actual Valentines while the kids take their girlfriends out to dinner and the movies

Point out that you are unwilling to fund a corporations tax write offs in the name of “charity.” You only donate to charities directly because then you know it’s being spent appropriately, and not split between the company and the charitable organization.

Dude made it clear who his priority is, and it isn’t you, OP. He will bring this up time and time again, for the entirety of your relationship, if you marry him. And he absolutely WILL tell her what you think of her, so be prepared for that nasty little conversation once he does, because you know she won’t let it go either. I can’t imagine being tethered to such a Mama’s boy for the rest of my life. Can you??

Good for you! Glad you finally found your spine! Life is too damned short to waste it on unappreciative people who just take, take, take!! Now change the locks and get cameras put up.

I’m also turning 50 this year! Happy half-century!!
We spent 2 weeks in the Rocky mountains last summer and it was amazing! We stayed in Denver, Helena, Idaho Falls (could have skipped that one if I’m honest), and a few days in Yellowstone. I’m also not athletic, though I do enjoy easy hikes, so we found small trails that let us connect with nature and each other. The shopping and food were great as well.
But if I had the choice to go somewhere further away, I’d pick the Italian Alps! We spent a week there before my kids were born, about 17-18 years ago. It’s fabulous! I mean, all of Italy was wonderful, but if we’re talking mountains, that’s the place. Food, shopping, entertainment, it’s all great!
We had 2 weddings because we lived in England but my husband’s family is in India. I’m from America so we were very flexible about who could afford to fly to Europe to attend our first wedding, even rented a very large B&B to accommodate most of them. We never expected any of them to also attend our wedding 3 months later in India!
Crazy entitlement on the bride’s part here! She is an inconstant and inconsiderate “friend.” She’s realigned her priorities and it sounds as though she’s made her decision, OP. I’m sorry.
