This is such a trip! This has happened to me on third party hardware! Fortunately I haven’t experienced this on my Lemp10…could you just chalk it up to a crappy internet connection?

Hey so I ended up receiving my battery! I was impressed as they sent it via a 2 day air however I feel like they sort of dropped the ball as they sent me my tracking information after I received my item lol. They were very nice tho!

My mom wouldn’t own a gaming laptop because she don’t play games…only little bitches play games :)

I’m regards to your identity…I guess you can be whoever you want to be it’s 2022 going on 2023…at this point I’m just imagining that you’re a sleek gamer girl WITH a neck beard who owns a thinkpad and occasionally games on a laptop that will only last for about 2 hours…

Otherwise go ahead keep playing your games…

Cheers

I didn’t pay 1k I bought second hand :) which saved me a lot of money…dang so your the stereotype of someone sporting a neck beard while daily driving Linux on a dinosaur egg huh? God bless you, your neck beard, and your dinosaur egg of a laptop

I’ll keep you in the loop…I must admit I was in contact with them earlier and there were two to three days in between responses which was frustrating…I’m trying hard to be patient and give them the benefit of the doubt since the holidays are around the corner and I’m assuming they’re busy…

Hello! I recently bought a system76 laptop and I can say from first hand experience that it makes a difference as I’ve read so many stories about people trying to daily drive Linux on windows or Apple machines and they had a hard time switching over because of hardware compatibility…In fact I once tried to run fedora on a Mac and I wasn’t able to use the trackpad, Wi-Fi, or Touch Bar…setting that stuff would’ve been a pain and a waste of time…if you’re able to daily drive Linux on your current machine more power to you however with a certified Linux machine at least you’ll k ow that tho ha have been tested by the manufacturer and that everything will work out of the box

wow...and just like that my migraine has subsided and my problem has been solved...such an easy fix for what seemed like a very complicated problem! Thank you so much!

I want to say mine was at about $700 (including shipping) with 16gb of ram, and 500gb m.2 ssd.

Minimum-Affect3570

Where did you buy your battery?

Minimum-Affect3570

Looks like I need a new battery lol

How many hours are you getting from your laptop?

Hey guys I think I might end up trying lunarvim and I’ll try to configure that for c++ I’m seriously overwhelmed by the level of support and help y’all are willing to offer !! Thanks everyone

Minimum-Affect3570

Thanks! I’ll make sure to check out your config files! Also would you recommend building neovim from source?

I just don’t want to have a windows boot loader on the drive that also has my Linux machine

Minimum-Affect3570

Oh wow...this seems a little bit more complex than I imagined...

does windows always automatically install it's boot loader onto the drive that is listed first within the boot order of bios?

Minimum-Affect3570

Considering the comments that have been made...I'm basically trying to see if I can separate the boot loaders from being installed on the same m.2 nvme SSD.Id rather like to have it set up like this:

SSD:1

Pop!_OS boot entry

UEFI OS: the default bootloader at ESP/EFI/BOOT

SSD: 2

Windows boot manager

I'd rather have the windows boot loader show up on SSD_2 because when it comes to operating systems I'd rather not mix my pees and carrots if you catch my drift?
