Edit: just looked it up, this game is actually set in the Hokkaido/Ezo region, and was first colonized by the Japanese in the 1400s, and didn’t have any trading posts until the 1700s (the point of the game is to help establish a trading posts /permanent colony to reach the outside world with). Had a friend group from high school, was a small group of three that I’m still cool with and a larger group that I never realized had a leader until the “leader” turned on me randomly at a group trip.

I was moving up in my career and was making more than the number, and said as much. Out of college, he was the only one who got a pretty good paying job, so I guess he got upset that someone else was doing better now? He got weird but it was late so I went home and then to the lake we were all staying at the next day. The entire trip he took every opportunity to shit on me and try to put me down. I told him to cool it several times but he just doubled down every time. Eventually I snapped, shoved him to the ground, and told him to shut the fuck up or fight me outside. He hid behind other people there and called me a pussy while doing so lol so I packed my shit, went home, left a long message in the group chat saying I was only mad at him, that he needed to grow up, and needed to apologize face to face, then left the group chat. Only heard from 3 of the friends in that chat agreeing that he was being a dick, so I just moved on without the rest of that group.
