I have to say that I have similar expectations. I am leading a team of 3 for one of the projects I am working on.... at the beginning I wrote only requirements to get offshore devs to work.. but the quality of the code was terrible. so I startet to write real specifications, beyond tech choice or structure and architecture... certain algorithms, processes were really necessary to get the quality I needed... But guess what... I can used that as a prompt and don't need to wait 2 weeks for the sprint to end to start my review.
