Yeah, it's definitely not ideal as it is. You'd think they could at least have a special ticker symbol for the common precious metals like they do for crypto coins. Or if they had a way to batch import historical prices, you could probably get a csv of the price history pretty easily but as of now you'd have to enter it manually.

The batch price history has been requested for a while, so hopefully they'll take notice eventually.

You can create a new Security for each precious metal, just be sure it has a unique symbol and you uncheck the "download quotes automatically" option. Then create an investment account "not linked to an institution" and add your purchases. Like you said, you'll have to manually enter the spot price periodically, which can be done from the ⚙️>Securities page.

Alternatively, you could go the asset route and track fluctuations as deposits/withdrawals from your asset account. This is how I track my car and home - every month or so I put in a transaction to adjust the current value. If you just want month-to-month granularity and don't care about securities things like lots or IRR, this may be simpler.

I feel ya, but it's not unusual for newer models (of anything) to be cheaper to repair (though it may be just as common for the opposite to be true too). The XR likely has something in the way it was designed that makes it harder to repair the glass back that they fixed in later models.

It sucks, for sure, but it's the march of technology and repairability seems to be one of the focuses currently.

QWERTYroch

Cosmetic damage is excluded. I've heard some reports of people getting lucky with a generous tech (since they have some level of discretion), but I think it would have to be a pretty major scratch to warrant the repair.

They make "screen" protectors for the back glass and camera plateau, and paired with a normal screen protector you'd be pretty well covered. I'm not aware of any (minimal) protection for the side that is not a full on case though.

There's a table in the terms and conditions. I believe it is also listed on a support page somewhere.

It's not based on purchase date, since the updated terms and applied to existing plans (see section 11). However, the $29 back glass price does have an exception that it does not apply to SE or models older than the 12, in which case it falls back to the $99 catch-all. So for some, that updated section wouldn't have any effect (though unless I've confused my dates it seems iPhone 12 owners did get a price reduction).

QWERTYroch

See my reply to the top level comment. Section 11 of the terms says that updates to the terms may be applied to existing plans automatically. You can either cancel or implicitly agree to the new terms but you cannot continue the plan with the original terms.

QWERTYroch

From the terms and conditions (section is the same in all versions):

11 Plan Changes

The Plan terms and conditions originally issued to you will remain in effect for the duration of your Plan Term and each Monthly Plan renewal if applicable, unless Apple notifies you of revised Plan terms and conditions. Apple may, at any time, revise any of the terms and conditions of this Plan, including the price and applicable service fees, upon sixty (60) days’ written notice to you, or longer if required by law (“Notice Period”). Such notice will be provided in a separate writing or email, or by other reasonable method. If you do not agree to the revised Plan terms and conditions, you may cancel the Plan without penalty. If you do not cancel the Plan within the Notice Period, your continued payment of monthly or other installment charges (if applicable) or request for service under the Plan after receiving notice of a change in your Plan terms and conditions, including with respect to a change in price or service fees, will be deemed consent by you to be bound by such revised Plan terms and conditions. In any event, you may cancel the Plan at any time in accordance with Section 9.

If Apple adopts any revision to this Plan that would broaden your coverage without additional cost or any increase in service fees, the broadened coverage will immediately apply to this Plan.

So while your agreement may be tied to the terms you originally accepted, your choice to continue without cancellation constitutes agreement to the updated terms and thus the plan is rebound to the latest version.

I think the point is they can have a commit number that is always increasing over time so when looking at results from multiple regressions it is easy to identify the later one.

With Git's normal commit hashes, you can't infer ordering so comparing two benchmarks or talking about bugs introduced/fixed, etc requires some other way to identify the latest version whereas that is implicit with monotonically increasing identifiers.

Who did you get to clean the duct? I've been looking for someone but they all say they're either HVAC only or don't do roof vents

QWERTYroch

Yep, that should do it. Keep in mind that when you set up VLANs you may lock yourself out of the switch, so either keep a few ports on the default profile for setup/testing, or be ready to swap ports to keep the cloud key and devices on the appropriate VLANs.

QWERTYroch

Unifi switches should act as a plug and play "dumb" switch without configuration. So if you just plug the trunk port into the switch it will pass the untagged traffic (if any). The CloudKey runs the controller that needs to be on the management VLAN (100). You can connect the CloudKey directly to the switch along with a computer or access point for the initial setup. Once reprovisioned with VLANs you can move the cloud key to any appropriately tagged port.

I believe the newer devices also have Bluetooth for initial setup and adoption, but I'm not sure how much configuration you can do there.

If you do have a color filter that is messing with it, it would have to be messing with images but not UI (or vice versa). You could try posting your screenshot somewhere (like your profile) and then bookmarking it. If the color matches your part of the screenshot, then there is either no filter or it affects all screen elements and wouldn't account for the difference in your original image.

Also, I'm pretty sure any screen filters are not reflected in the actual screenshots (try taking an inverted screenshot, it reverts back to normal when you turn off inverted mode), so it's unlikely that any filters OP is using are causing the image to be different.

It is possible that the color is simply misrepresented by the screenshot, perhaps due to upload compression or the original encoding.

The original article was published with a typo. OP copied the headline verbatim.

Yep, the shelf is one hole too low and the switch + patch panel are one hole too high.

Have you been able to confirm that the issue is outside your house? I ask because the ISP modem/router combos are often quite shitty and replacing it with a higher quality one might help. Check with the ISP (and unofficial forums too) what models are supported.

Another thought: if you need this for work, would your company be willing to pay the difference to upgrade to business class cable? It won't be any faster, but should come with an SLA so will either be more reliable or you may at least be compensated when it's not.

QWERTYroch

I don't know of anything that will let you send 2Gbps from a single stream down 2x 1Gbps cables. AFAIK, EdgeRouters (and most manufacturers) implement 802.3ad which is the dynamic link aggregation/LACP protocol I described above.

If you dig a known good and bad domain directly to each pi, do they both block as expected, or does PH2 still not block?

Do European debit cards have the same liability protections as American credit cards? Or perk programs (cash back/points, extended warranties, concierge services, etc)?

In Settings > Gestures, you can disable left or right gestures which turns the respective swipe direction into forward/back from any position on the screen, not just from the edge. Alternatively, if you do use the action gestures, the tab bar always works from any position to navigate forward and back.

Disclaimer: gesture options may be a Pro/Ultra feature. I've had Ultra for so long I don't remember what is standard/paid anymore.

If you accidentally scroll to the top by pressing the status bar (or the few pixels just below the notch), touch the same area again after a second and you will scroll back to where you were automatically.

Similarly, you can swipe right to navigate to the previous page, as expected in iOS apps, but you can also swipe left to go back to where you just were. Super useful if you're deep in a comment section and accidentally swipe back to the post view, since you won't lose your spot when you come back.

(Bonus: left/right swiping also works on the tab bar, and you don't have to do it from the edge. So if you can't reach whichever edge just swipe on the tab bar).

Keep in mind that DNS itself doesn't really have a notion of primary/secondary or backup resolvers. It's implementation dependent, so YMMV, but it is possible for the "secondary" resolver to see the bulk of the traffic. Some clients will send requests to both simultaneously and take the first one to respond, others may wait for one to time out before asking the other. Some clients may learn an affinity for the fastest responder, others may round-robin or always ask both.

That said, I think most clients either learn which resolver is fastest and ask that one first, or ask all and take the first response so you shouldn't see a difference in resolution time as long as your "primary" resolver can keep up. The wifi one will probably be a few ms slower, but smart clients won't be relying on it anyway, and if any do it won't be a big deal.

If you really want a true primary/backup where the wifi pi kicks in only when the wired one is down, you would need some high availability software, like keepalived.

Do you remember where/when he said this? Last I heard he was working on redoing the layout on iPads and v2 was Coming Soon ™️.

QWERTYroch

It's not an unofficial device. Christian (the developer) has outright said that the iPad app is not optimized for the screen size and his primary goal for V2.0 is to enhance the iPad app. It's not like people using Apollo on iPad are circumventing some device restriction, Christian intentionally checked the box to deploy for iPad on the store.

I like the definition list layout more than the separate heading option for the same reasons you mentioned. I have not come across a case where the port would need more that a line or two of documentation, and I think if it did need multiple paragraphs or fancy formatting like lists, that would be better documented in the module description than the port definition.

For the top level menu items, I'd also like to see packages. Since packages/files/modules/types/etc may be imported/included into other packages, cross linking would be nice (ie show that package foo imports package bar::baz).
