Awesome dude, the post is great, thanks for your reply. Got a new Twitch follower!
That makes sense. And also I imagine that even if you bring two target-one-deck decks, one gets banned and the other remains, it's inconsistent because if you get the wrong matchup first you're screwed.
ReeseSlitherspoon
I still struggle a little to understand tournament vs ladder strategy, I've only ever played one tournament and was out round one lol...so can I ask, why would all three decks in the lu want to be fast? I find that the murlocs are pretty good against the priests...which of the control decks is the biggest stumbling block would you say (like, which would you ban)? I'm unemployed at the moment so might finally have time to take part.
ReeseSlitherspoon
Interesting on Tidehunter, because it's so ubiquitous that it's basically a given in murloc decks, but when I think about it it rarely "goes off" the way I want it to. Interesting choice. Do you think we'll ever see a deck like this in a tournament setting?
ReeseSlitherspoon
What do you think were the objectively bad cards?
ReeseSlitherspoon
Anyone expect to see Murloc Paladin in tournaments, or too risky?

I disagree that this is classic addiction behavior, it's pretty far from the norm really. Replacing with Jack Daniels actually highlights that imo. This isn't just stealing a fifty from her purse to buy Jack Daniels, it's maxing out her credit card on bottle service for a week straight at the best club in town and planning to do so while sober. That's why people are fixated on the cost of the PC, because it's so far outside what it needs to be. Addiction alone doesn't account for that leve, there is something else going on. Also, this escalated incredibly quickly, classic behavioral addicts don't become typically become addicted overnight (he didn't even have a computer he could play these games on before).
Not discounting a mental health issue, but classic addiction alone isn't it, it's something else, too. Maybe mania. Or it is possible too that he is doing it on purpose to drive her off.
ReeseSlitherspoon
He can be an asshole and an addict at the same time though. Thing is, he did the asshole thing (spending all of their combined savings on the PC) BEFORE he was addicted to gaming; he didn't have the system he needed before then, and OP says this was new behavior. It's not comparable to an alcoholic taking money out of her purse to buy a fifth of vodka, it's comparable to spending thousands of dollars on a week of nonstop bottle service at the best club in town. That kind of setup for gaming is incredibly extravagent and absolutely intentional. Your average addict does not behave that way due to addiction alone.
ReeseSlitherspoon
It is true.

I see, makes sense!

Had a very similar experience, and now my mom is like, the last person I'd ever want to go to with my problems or personal life. She's got many great qualities and I love her, but I can't trust her in this respect.
In addition to gossiping about me all the time, she also made my problems all about her a lot of the time. Like, any time I was really emotional about something she'd take it as a personal attack even if it's because I was, say, frustrated with homework. Also, if something bad happened to me, she'd get really sad too in a way that kind of...stole it from me, I guess? Hard to explain, but instead of comforting me it made me feel like I had to comfort her. A lot of this comes from how she was raised, but that doesn't change the impact it had on me.
Did you have the same kinds of experiences? Wonder if OP does as well, seems likely.
ReeseSlitherspoon
A lot of older folks would probably say that she is the asshole actually. The old "if you've got nothing to hide then why do you care?" argument. She might get pressure from aunt's/uncles and the like telling her she's an asshole. My mom demanded all my passwords when I was a teenager, and when I said hell no, she enlisted other adults in our lives to tell me how unreasonable I was being, that my mom was justified.
ReeseSlitherspoon
The code is probably a big part of what's making them suspicious... they're most likely afraid she came up with it because she's hiding something serious. They automatically assume the worst instead of appreciating her creativity, it sucks.
ReeseSlitherspoon
Colloquially, "under my roof" typically refers to an attempt to restrict things that don't relate to cohabitation issues on the grounds that you have control over everything in your home. You're not asking anything of him that a roommate wouldn't ask, so it's more about negotiating rules for the sharing a home you own than anything else. So I don't think these posters are criticizing or would criticize what you're doing, that's not what they're talking about, you're all good!
ReeseSlitherspoon
Bless your heart!

Same! No appetite, then boom--eating shredded cheese from the bag in my dark kitchen.
ReeseSlitherspoon
I got wrecked turn 2 my first go with aggression 61 by druid swarm 261--spells cost health+choose 1 cards have both effects. Turn 1wisps of the old gods was unbeatable. Not sure what all else is in there but my first play I drew nothing but token summoning spells
ReeseSlitherspoon
Love it thank you. I realize now I could've just googled it whoops.
ReeseSlitherspoon
What's the A stand for? Always looking to improve my sweary acronym vocabulary.
ReeseSlitherspoon
Totally. Even if there weren't kids at all, this would be weird. To be clear, I fully believe it's fine to go places without a spouse, and that spouses don't need to be included in all social events, but this exclusion is bizarre.
ReeseSlitherspoon
Can you move out?
ReeseSlitherspoon
Absolutely. Meeting with him makes it seem like this is up for debate, which it isn't. OP needs to disengage from arguing about it at all, with anyone, and just present it as a fait accompli. Nothing he says will convince them most likely, and he will just be fanning the flame by even trying.
ReeseSlitherspoon
I feel really bad for her. In a lot of cultures (even most cultures tbh, at least historically), it's just 'known' that men are allowed to mess around while women are not, and you're supposed to accept that.
Yeah, you're right, I was just thinking of the qualifiers but we don't ever really get to see those.
