Yeah, disorders by definition have to impact your life negatively in some way. Even something like Williams Syndrome, with the intellectual disabilities, can impede a person's social interactions despite the fact that they're so friendly and sociable, because people don't want to "deal" with a lot of the quirks that come along with the full encompassment of the disorder. Usually that specific disorder is characterized as making a person act "childish" and unable to have more than surface level conversations.
And that's why it's a disorder. If a person were just a social butterfly, then they'd be just that, a social butterfly. If they have a disorder, then it impacts their life negatively to a point where it needs to be treated. So even if a disorder does make some things seemingly easier for a person, there's definitely something more going on behind the scenes to make them suffer enough to need to identify it and deal with it.

Omg hi friend! I'm a bit tipsy too lol, and full of pride too :D been having some minor substance abuse issues lately that culminated in a hangover that legitimately lasted 3 days and almost made me have to go to the hospital for electrolyte deficiency (hot flashes causing excessive sweating and then the "tingles" that I only knew how to treat from previous and completely unrelated experience).
But this was my first time drinking since then and I was so pleasantly surprised that I not only kept well below blackout, but that I didn't even really wanna get more drunk. I didn't even have to try to hold myself back! And I was having such a great time with my friends too! It was so fun, the show I showed them was a favorite of the group.
Which! Actually! I saw that Hank Green post earlier and read the comments, and just looked into it a bit more, and I was actually able to tell my friends about it a bit and give my opinion and we had a great conversation! So if nothing else, I'm glad you were able to give that to me. That was originally why I was making this comment lol.
Anyway I'm tired as fuck so I'm going to sleep too, I'm so glad you had a great night and I just wanted to share mine with you too.

... Wasn't that a movie?
Okay so I looked it up because I comment BEFORE I look like an idiot, and there were indeed two two-episode arcs for that, called "Revenge of Dr. Blowhole" and "The Revenge of the Revenge of Dr. Blowhole."
I was thinking of the one with Bendysnatch Comeandslip playing the dog and the fucking... Octopus villain thing. And the penguins getting purple-minioned. That was the Penguins of Madagascar movie.

Hi, trans person here.
If you wanna figure out if you're trans, it's less about wanting "opposite sex genitals" (for example, I don't), and more about being realistic about what it would mean to be trans. Kinda like how you pointed out, it's the difference of "wow, I really want those perceived privileges" vs "wow, I AM that and I'm willing to accept everything that comes with being it over what I currently have." Basically the difference of "am I jealous of what they are, or only what they have because of it?"
I will say that I think OP is potentially somewhere on the agender spectrum. I like to call it "gender apathy" when a person just like. Genuinely doesn't care about their gender, genuinely are fine with presenting with whatever gender assigned. It's up to them whether they want to transition at all, although the vast majority of these types of people usually don't even usually realize, let alone transition. I personally probably wouldn't transition if I didn't have any sense of my gender. That being said, the whole thing with OP thinking about wanting male genitals is a bit of a potential flag. I'd suggest figuring out if thats just a curiosity you were pondering, or an actual want that you're pining for.
But yeah, as a trans person, I look at both main genders and just think "wow. I wish I could pick and choose and have some of both," because the reality is, some things are broadly better for men, and some for women. It's normal to be envious of things other people have, especially when it seems like they were given it just for being something. So the problem to work through now is to figure out if you're jealous because you want to have what they have, or because you want to be wholly be what they are.

If HE* had had the right response.
You were 17 and fighting a life threatening mental illness/disease and most importantly, that WAS you begging for help. You did more than your part. It was NOT your fault that he didn't listen and I'm appalled on your behalf jfc.
I'm so glad you're doing better now <3

There's a Greek place near where I live with the name of that food in it's name, and they just straight up spell it "Yeero." So people will actually pronounce it correctly. So I have to assume its that lol.
It's literally just spelled like that in the title of the store too, they spell it "gyro" when referring to the food on the menu and everyone actually says it correctly somehow too, so ig it works.
TransguyJayJay
And it's gonna be all Greek people in it, right? The casting choices he's talking about are the choices to not cast any ethnically Greek people in it, right? The casting choices to cast non-Greek people instead of Greek people? The choice to not cast within what everyone's prescribed ethnicity would be? The actual casting choices which makes it historically innaccurate?
He's not wanting to just replace everyone with white people and claim it's historically accurate, right?
Right, Elon?
Jfc I can't with these people. They're not even right about what their "historical accuracy" would look like, which just makes their racism justifications look even stupider.
TransguyJayJay
... How is this casual erasure? Like genuinely, it says that they're two unidentified women and doesn't comment on the nature of their relationship at all. All the comments also seem to be perfectly respectful of that. Did I miss something?
Like genuinely I'm not trying to "gotcha," I just don't see any erasure. And we're also assigning romance to them because of that, which is also kinda weird to me because we don't actually know the nature of their relationship other than that they're probably fond of each other because of the posing. That's why they're just labelled as "two unidentified women." But that doesn't even matter because their potential relation to each other was never labelled until it got cross posted here to begin with.
Idk just feels strange.
TransguyJayJay
Hey OP, look up existentialism. It's a great starting point on what you're thinking and should help you understand and process those emotions better. I find it much more helpful than nihilism.
TransguyJayJay
If you want to actually feel your gender, think about a life where everyone around you insists you're [opposite gender] to the point that they think you're genuinely mentally ill for thinking otherwise. Every single moment they see you and percieve you. And it's not even malicious, they just do think you're genuinely [opposite gender]. You're the weird one for bringing it up and making a deal out of it and correcting them and they WILL make it known that they don't think youlook like [your gender] with sideways glances and being weirded out at the very least. Or they apologize profusely and cry about how they're the worst for getting it wrong and beg for forgiveness, so you have to comfort them and make an even bigger deal about it. Or they genuinely don't believe you. Or they give you a weird look and an "... Okay..." Or they try to argue with you and point out the parts of your body that make you [opposite gender], or in rare cases threaten you about it. That weird uncomfortable feeling you get from that is a a watered down version of gender dysphoria.
So. Yeah I kinda feel my gender as a presence every single day, not in concious thought, but just unconcious. In the background. And I only know because I very much know and remember what it was like to experience the above every single day for the first 19ish years of my life. So I genuinely wouldn't expect a cisgender person to understand or feel their gender in any sort of capacity unless they go through the thought process above. But I can promise you that your gender is there. Or if you're ambivalent or feeling other things about it, then that's a definite sign lol.
TransguyJayJay
Yeah, I get that. I'm actually the opposite lol, I'm not an anarchist because I'm an optimist and I don't think there's an actual end goal. People get so caught up in finding and implementing the perfect system, that they forget they have to actually. Implement it. And it'll never be fully implemented. That's just not how real life works. Red tape, plus everyone has different ideals, plus propaganda, etc.
So we need to focus instead on working with what we've got and emulating other countries and scientific models that have actually been proven to work and make life better for their populations overall. Most of which is literally just "treat people who need help like people who need help, instead of criminals" btw.
TransguyJayJay
It really does, huh? I really wish all the ideal utopian systems would actually work.
TransguyJayJay
Yeah, I removed it because it wasn't pertinent, but I very specifically don't call myself an anarchist because I don't believe in actual anarchy. Anybody that calls themself an anarchist without actually believing that true anarchy is the goal is at best doing themself a disservice and at worst actively harming their own movement by mislabeling it and associating with people that have differing and often opposing ideals. It's become such a broad label that it means nothing and no one is fighting for the same thing any more. So it causes infighting like OOP is vague posting about.
But that's my real issue with anarchists, at this point it's a pop-label that they think means "I hate the government and I want change" when it really means "I want to entirely abolish government," which are two radically different things. I talked about it more in depth in another comment in a different post, but that's the gist of it.
(And then the true anarchist minority you mentioned... Yeah we don't get along. I think they're actual idiots who don't understand how reality works instead of just being naive/surface level about their activism like the "non-true" anarchists. Although I do agree with their assessments of what needs to change, I don't agree with how they think those changes should be made.)
Edit: I genuinely agree with all the comments that are replying to me. They prove my point about anarchists knowing what needs to change but not knowing how, or disagreeing on how. Which creates infighting.
I just refuse to associate myself with people who can't agree on action that needs to be taken in general, because then nothing gets done. I don't give a shit if I identfiy every single hardship in the world if I can't do anything to help because mohawk Dan over there refuses to vote against the new shitty local policy removing all the benches in the mall because he "doesn't believe in the system". It's counter-inuitive to the very core of what I believe in.
But genuinely I don't blame the people who do. I just have opinions about the label itself.
I like them (mostly.) Theyre my brethren and the people who usually fight by my side. I always size up on a person by person basis no matter what, and anarchists are no exception.

Not to mention I'm not online enough to be familiar with frequent posters to r/ CuratedTumblr by name
TransguyJayJay
Oh shit I almost made a comment about their stupid bot "educating" some random person who used the word "wild" in a comment, it said that it's colonial and racist for them to use that word. The official auto-mod. The commenter literally said "It's wild that [something about DIY HRT]"
I'm basically an (edit: "new" anarchist's) anarchist's wet dream ideal (actually goes out and protests, votes, I've literally taken off homeless bars on benches before, volunteers with my community and tries my best to help people, a lot of their aesthetic ideals, etc etc etc) and I. Well frankly I think that subreddit is just bad. A breeding ground for infighting. I also just got weird vibes from it and I'm starting to see why because of all these posts.
TransguyJayJay
I, a man, am constantly in rooms with only women just bc of the profession I'm gonna go into (a specific health science), and I don't feel any sort of weird way about it, other than vague annoyance at the loud annoying girls. I also have galfriends who are often in classrooms with all men (usually STEM, mechanical engineers esp), and they also feel nothing more than vague annoyance at the loud annoying boys. We shit talk about them a lot and I genuinely don't think gender has really ever come up at all. I only know these women are in classes with all men because I actually mentioned how weird it was to me that all my classes were mostly women on the first day and half of them said it was the same for them but the other way around lol.
That being said, it's not about "thinking a gang rape is gonna break out." It's about the sideways comments and the glances and not being taken seriously just because of your gender. The thing is, that shit happens to me too as a man in a woman-dominated field. I've been harassed by some of them before, I've been not taken seriously and "fact checked", I've been told I straight up am not allowed interact with that person because she thinks only women can be nurses (we're nothing close to nurses). I'm basically not allowed to be alone in a room with a kid-- not that we are supposed to anyway, but you'd be surprised how much we don't have to deal with the issue of parents trying to leave their kids for the session to go shopping or something while I'm around.
It's actually pretty funny, because it actually got brushed off when I tried to say anything about the harassment. Other than my friends, including the ones in those male-dominated classes, who were appalled.
TransguyJayJay
I like that this is an actual answer and kinda the only actual answer, yet it still holds the same energy as pretty much all the other top comments.
TransguyJayJay
I've... Never ever seen this issue. I have however had the issue of my batter being too tough because I mixed it too much.
It's so weird that Ive never considered or seen the other side of this problem lol.
TransguyJayJay
Oh hey! Small world, cool name ya got there lol.
TransguyJayJay
There's no fucking way I'm reading this the first time I get crossed in literal months holy shit.
Also not necessarily true, but it is always better to start out with this your first time because more people have good experiences when you start with weed vs. alcohol.

God, I love this subreddit. I'd never be exposed to world cup omegaverse guy otherwise. Bless this subreddit and all the people who contribute to it with so many sweet treats.

Hey y'all, I love seeing starter packs that don't directly apply to me. Very rarely do I see one that I relate to. That's why I followed this subreddit. Enjoy the starter packs that don't apply to you instead of whining about them, or else you're never gonna see anything to help you understand things outside your current world view.
This starter pack is awesome.
TransguyJayJay
Holy shit this actually happened to me because of accutane (although I never went to to doctor because I knew what was causing it. Ingrown toenails. Eight of them total on my biggest main two toes on both feet.)
It's... Genuinely one of the worst experiences I've ever had in my life. I had to use a cane to get around, and sometimes it was bad enough that yeah, I just could barely walk. Mental health was at an all time low, I had to get accomodations for my classes, I literally cried sometimes because I had to get up and walk to classes, or because I couldn't run after my friends or walk on the grass or even go to places where I couldn't sit for extended periods of time, getting random mood swings of intense anger because people other people didn't have to go through all this, professors assuming I I'm lesser than mentally because I use a cane, being late to everything because half the time I would have a flare up in the middle of walking somewhere and have to take a break, and the other half just having to miss things or skip them because I couldn't do them. Even things as simple as going to the bathroom when it got really bad, Ive pissed in a bottle more times than I'd care to admit...
Yeah I'm so incredibly lucky that it was a temporary condition (although still healing after I got off the meds 4 months ago). It sounds like your foot pain is much worse than mine was as well as chronic, OP. Stay strong, my friend.
Here's one that I haven't seen in any HRT symptoms lists, testosterone made my IBS so much better and more manageable. It's extremely stress related how bad my IBS gets, but even at my worst stress levels, it has NEVER gotten as bad as my average medium-stress day beforehand.
Other changes:
Hair went from straight to curly (roughly 1c to 2c)
I'm hypermobile, and my joints dislocate and hurt WAY less now. Also practically down to average now.
I can sing high notes (think Christine from Phantom of the Opera) and lower notes (think Frank Sinatra), but I can't sing the middling notes to connect the two voice types. I was classically trained before to sing, and now I'm basically starting over. My voice is sexy as hell with what I can sing though lol.
I pass fully, but women are generally much less wary when first interacting with me vs my cis counterparts. Same with many of my passing trans friends.
I can't cry anymore. I literally can't, I've tried, I've wanted to.
Sex drive went WAY up. I was basically asexual before. I am a teenage boy now.
I got way calmer and less anxious.
Acneeeee.
There are definitely others. HRT be wild yo
Edit: WAY late but forgot to add. Turns out. I get menopause symptoms as well. I don't have a period anymore (yay!) but I also am starting to get some of the more negative side effects too, mainly in the downstairs area lol. Dryness and heat flashes have been a fun time.
