Agreed. My life is immeasurably better in every way since I moved from the city to the suburbs. I feel like a human being again.

On the one hand I'm excited to see my hometown on Reddit, but on the other hand I'm thinking "not like this"

Velonoch

Looks like she's telling a ghost story.

I've heard if you take some clothing you've worn but not washed and put it on your porch that it will help them find their way back if they're lost.

This happened to me too but on a bicycle. I flipped over the hood and destroyed about half my bike but no broken bones. It happened right in front of a cop too and he said "if you're not hurt then you two can just work it out" and went back to standing on his corner. This is the point where in telling the story I should say "unbelievable!", but at this point it's approaching "expected" the older I get.

Velonoch

That's pretty cool.

How many broken fingers have you gone through?

Velonoch

It works in reverse too.

I think these are what we used but not sure on size:

Command Hooks, Medium, Clear, 6-Hooks (17091CLR-6ES) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0084M66RC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_CvXXxbK403PEE

Two on the bottom and one on the side holds the iPad pretty well, and you can easily take it off.

Velonoch

Mount it to a kitchen cabinet with clear plastic hooks and use it for recipes when cooking

I knew Bill and he's done more for cycling than anyone I've ever met. He organized daily group rides, educational classes, and was an all around great and helpful guy. He's also one of the warmest human beings I've ever met. Please consider contributing to the GoFundMe campaign.

Here's the GoFundMe link

She's a self-described "princess" according to her facebook page and was "antagonistic and uncooperative" with the police. I knew Bill well and it's tough to see such shitty people as her continue to do whatever they want. Bill was one of the best people I've ever met in every sense of the word.

Velonoch

I worked with him as well. He was one of the warmest people I'd ever met, and a great father.

Velonoch

Is he named that because you can never find him when you search for him?

Velonoch

That must be a foundational textbook.

I'm looking more for navigation between posts and comments.

It's a commuter bike and I made the mistake of test riding a bike with the new t105 components and was wondering about upgrade options.

Issue resolved! It turns out my derailleur hanger was bent. It looked fine with a visual inspection but the alignment gauge said otherwise.

On this particular bike it's part of the frame and after doing all the troubleshooting I stopped by the LBS to see if they could take a look at it and the conclusion was that the derailleur hanger was bent. After straightening it back out with the alignment tool and a tune-up it looks like everything is back to normal. I did a 20 mile ride to verify and so far everything looks good.

I want to thank everyone for their helpful and detailed responses. I've learned a lot in the course of reading them and trying to track this down and I appreciate everyone's help.

Velonoch

The pivots of the derailleur, shifter, or both? That's a good idea. I'll give it a try. Thanks!

Velonoch

I did some more troubleshooting based on recommendations here and my current theory is internal cable friction probably due to me routing the cables wrong or being too long. The issue seems to manifest as delayed or incomplete upshifts and the spring isn't strong enough to overcome the friction.

If the routing isn't the issue can you buy replacement springs for a derailleur?

Velonoch

I replaced the 28 tooth stock cassette with a 32 tooth one so I believe a long cage is required but not sure

That's a mountain bike derailleur right? Is there a meaningful difference between that and a road derailleur?
