Anyone who got offended is a loser, simple as that. You're all good

cadnights

Have some compassion for others

I got into engineering, which is what I always liked growing up. It's a bit soul sucking as a job sometimes, but other times you can look back and think "how cool is it that I designed a part of that?" and it's not so bad.

cadnights

I don't disagree with any of that. I guess I'd hope we could keep it light here and not dogpile on a guy for recreating the cool rocket car with a cringe title for the post.

cadnights

Nice!

cadnights

That's a big amen from me.

cadnights

This is awesome! Is it just looking at the genre of what's playing? Do you play it through HA or is there some other layer of detection.

cadnights

Me too, friend

cadnights

No literally. This is a sad thing to see happen to a sub I've been with so long. I thought we could appreciate some engineering.

cadnights

Nice job on the build! I'm sorry no one else has anything positive to say

cadnights

I like the engineering though. I'll glaze the actual team behind this all day, Elon aside.

Also, I don't get why this post read as "sucking Elon's rod" to you. Seems a bit extreme of a reaction to a ksp build

cadnights

Banana for scale, in both space and time

Mass-loaded vinyl

The wheel wells are plastic, so use MLV and foam instead of these CLD sheets. These are great for making metal flat surfaces stop reverberating. For the wheel wells you'll want something that actually absorbs the road/tire noise before it makes it to the structure

cadnights

Yeah like that Bose suspension they were showing off 10 years ago where it was all magnetic so it literally could jump

cadnights

Be rich, have enough property to actually use this thing on private land (it won't be road or track legal), and be chums with Elon

cadnights

My thoughts: This shit is crazy

cadnights

Learn what?

cadnights

Just put it inside a bucket of equal size. You'll have to force it in slightly, but it will un-collapse when you do so

cadnights

If it makes you feel better, this trim would be classified as an aircraft and will certainly not be allowed on public roads. Or a track.

cadnights

It's because for the walls to collapse in, the seams in the corners have to poke out a teeny bit. The second bucket prevents that, nothing to do with air pressure. You can un-collapse an imploded bucket by putting it in a bucket

cadnights

That's a different trim, you'll only see the side thrusters on the one that was on the ramp

cadnights

They're down low, easier to see in the slow mo replay

cadnights

I think with the wing + suction fans it gets there. The fans were providing 10,000 lb of downforce with the car at a standstill, if the on-screen readout is to be believed.
