Ltt migrated to a support portal rather than email, so the upload is likely possible on that site, which would be as foolproof as it can realistically get.

The manufacturer's gone bankrupt, but if you can find yourself a secondhand SubPac online, grab one.
When I use mine, I find I can listen on headphones at half the volume that I do without it, and get the same (or even better) experience.

I've found that effect tends to be a function of how strong the earplug is in relation to how loud the music is, rather than the quality of the earplug per se.
E.g. If I'm at a very loud metal or grunge gig, I'll wear powerful, industrial-type foam ones: Honeywell LaserLites being my favs for this. And everything usually sounds great.
But if I wear those to a normal rock or pop concert, I get the effect you describe. Muffled, distant, and that weird own voice thing.
So I use less reducing earplugs in that environment - currently getting a lot of success from Alpine MusicSafes. These have swappable filters to tune it just right. You want to ensure the music is still loud enough to be enveloping.

I know you may have gone down this path already, but if not, and you have a bit of money to spend on you might (might) be able to improve things for him with certain high quality hearing aids, fitted by someone with a real understanding of how hearing aids behave with music. Most audiologists have a fairly hazy understanding of it, and so often undershoot what's possible.
Some places to start, though it will probably require a fairly deep dive:

Yeah, there's probably potential there. Something like that where there is scope to get decent deals.
Or maybe a scrapyard wars anniversary edition: They're only allowed to pick up things that are 2015 or older?

So how is this malware getting on these machines? They make it sound like this happened on all devices including phones which is even less possible.
From what I can gather sifting through all the fucking fear mongering nothing-burgers is that this is a Windows exploit and maybe if a Windows machine loaded the ad, and the targeting of that ad gives up the machine's IP address that maybe they're able to get malware onto the machine remotely? However, that's not how networks work. All the devices connected to the local network look like they have the same IP to the public internet.
...and the Windows CVEs make it clear that it isn't exploitable without already privileged access to the machine.
I think you're getting their point mixed up somewhat.
They don't profess to know exactly what flaws are being exploited here perform the covert installation of the malware onto targetted people's devices - just concrete evidence that these named actors are doing so using some unknown zero days.
The CVEs they worked with Google and Microsoft to publish relate to the installed malware and its actions once it has been installed via the driveby exploits the spyware authors used to installed it.
What they are discussing in detail is the targetted advertising that allows them to send malicious ad content to a specific user. They obtain IPs and cookies to identify the user - typical fingerprinting techniques. They don't use the IP "to get the malware onto the machine" as such, e.g. by saying "send malware to 65.123.123.234". Instead, the device would query the server and would find that the server would return the payload to it if the calling device had an ip of 65.123.123.234, and a certain cookies, and a specific ipv6 address, etc, etc, etc, etc.

None of the above in this case, apparently. Reports are that the local govt put restrictions on the stadium to heavily reduce the number of concerts it holds.

Which makes me wonder - did he ever compete himself?
f10101
Someone only just in their 20s I work with mentioned how they hardly drink now by choice - they'd prefer to feel fresh the morning after.
I mean, it was always pain for us the next day, but the fun of the night was worth it.
Has the vibe on nights out shifted so much that it's just not much fun for young people any more?
f10101
I wonder did they cover this in their "last build guide you'll ever need" (or whatever it's called) video series?
f10101
I wonder how many superstar employees they've rejected with this stance...
f10101
Dr. John Gillan? He was Rotunda. But it's possible that is indeed the issue here. He's been taking on this work across the HSE because there was no one else, and it was raised in the Seanad earlier in the year: https://www.oireachtas.ie/en/debates/debate/seanad/2026-04-22/speech/16/
I wonder did the minister intervene and block the HSE from using him?
f10101
Would you at least do me a favour and edit your first post to acknowledge that "There isn't a mystery. Hamilton admitted they called him in and he ignored thinking picking up track position was more important. He was wrong." doesn't refer to the VSC?
f10101
That was my original message
In which case your original message was a non-sequitur.
The whole point of the thread you replied to is the VSC pit decision. That is where the controversy is, because it was a slam dunk pit call. If Lewis intentionally refused to pit in the face of a direct instruction, it would be extremely serious - potentially career-limiting at Ferrari.
The later discussion about pitting is a different matter. That was just a standard weighing up the pros and cons that ended up being wrong - like taking mediums at the start.
f10101
Yes, but that was all significantly after the VSC, looking at the situation afresh, as they're looking at the performance of the other cars. They went back and forth, Lewis asked to gamble, and they let him.
You're continuing to imply he unilaterally disobeyed the team here.
f10101
Pitting "the next lap" wouldn't have made any sense. It was no longer under VSC, and he certainly wouldn't have been expected to do so by the team.
Discussion about pitting again occurred afresh in subsequent laps.
f10101
People really love to believe what they want to believe, don't they...
f10101
There isn't a mystery. Hamilton admitted they called him in and he ignored thinking picking up track position was more important
That's incorrect. He has not admitted that he ignored the call to pit during the VSC. At least I can't see any quote to that effect anywhere.
He chose to start on medium. And After the VSC he elected (after debating with his engineer) to try and make it to the end in the hope of an SC or VSC. Those two things seem to be the decisions he was apologising for.
All he's said about the VSC, though, is that he missed the entry, which is exactly how the onboard looks.
This idea that he went rogue and ignored the pitwall is completely without any justification.
f10101
The trouble with this kind of statement is that it's usually counterproductive. The fans are so parasocial and warped that it just further energises their attacks - "f you, [person they hate] - look at what you made our poor [person they like] have to do", etc.
f10101
IRS cynically put out an unsanctioned "Best Of REM" consisting only of IRS tracks after REM left them to move to Warner and immediately had a huge hit album with Out Of Time.
REM is a hard one obviously, as they had different waves of hits that could be considered biggest including some great ones on that IRS compilation, but Losing My Religion, Shiny Happy People, Everybody Hurts, Man on The Moon were all Warner releases.
f10101
Why don't they want you to bring it?
f10101
Whichever gives you the most control sonically, I'd suggest.
One that will let you sit back and do filler, but also will sing out clearly when you need to be heard.
f10101
He missed the entry according to him. I was watching the onboard and had the same impression in realtime. He sails past the entry then you can see him back off midway through the last corner, and seemingly realise he can't jump across the median. I'd love to hear the team radio... It wasn't active through that segment...
f10101
I was thinking of a story that in the cold war if a perticullar song would come up there was a big news announcement coming. But maybe the answer lays in a holiday period or a tragic event?
Sporting events are another option. I'd say the most likely answers will skew towards the early 20th century, as people were gathering around TVs rather than radios during 9/11, etc.
OP may have emailed them instead of using the support system which could explain that. They've been trying to wean customers off of email, to be fair.
